Boyfriends Birthday - Help!

Im having a major stress () about what to do for my boyfriends birthday, which is the 11th July. We were supposed to go sonisphere festival but our driving friend let us down, and I really cannot afford £224 each for ticket & travel.
Im 17, he will be turning 19, we're booked off work the friday-tuesday (so return to work on the wednesday) so really im looking for something weekend based.
We're from Birmingham - and niether of us drive, so anywhere we go needs to be easily accessable via public transport/coaches ect ect. I really want to go away somewhere, if only to make decent use of my days I've booked off from work. He's rather adventure based, would probably enjoy things like rock climbing - me on the other hand... just no, hahaha.
Problem = I need to do this seriously cheap, and I have no idea how.
Any suggestions anyone?:rotfl:

London by coach and stay in a youth hostel. (I think you can get rooms for just the two of you).
Stratford upon avon is good for a weekend break, and good public transport.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
You see, I was thinking stratford - because it's really pretty and I know theres a skate park there (another one of his hobbies), is it really easily accessable from birmingham though?

I vaguely remember going by train pretty cheaply and easily.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Yes, I was just coming back to suggest that. I think it's perfectly fair. And maybe better than anything else.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Well my original idea was to pay for his, then have mine for my birthday off him - if that makes sense, so we've kind of bought each others, but I can just see Sonisphere costing an arm and a leg what with the food prices, camping equipment, booze, ect ect. I have entered a few comps to win tickets though - never know

Festivals don't have to cost a lot- do you not know anyone you can borrow a tent from? Tesco have some cheapy tents for £25 at the mo which would be fine although I'm not sure I'd trust one in torrential rain....You can usually take small gas stoves so you can cook some meals there- even simple things like pot noodles/bacon sarnies keep costs down. You can smuggle booze into the arena if you are careful- I never buy alcohol at festivals now. You are welcome to drink your own in the campsites anyway. Seetickets may do a coach/ticket package taking you directly there- if not keep an eye on on the forums as often you'll fine nearer the time tickets sell for well under face value just so people get some money back on them. If a festival is what you both want I'd be looking at ways of doing that as even going away somewhere non festivalling for a few days will start to add up.0

apparently charities use people who then get in for free, also organisers need stewards;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
