    hi

can people post details of what the beach and pools are like at all 3 haven's in North Wales please? ie

    Haven Hafan y mor

    Haven Greenacres

    Haven Presthaven sands

and also the Haven's in Yorkshire

    ie Haven Primrose Valley

    haven blue dolphin

    Haven Reighton Sands

i am thinking of booking one of these for the sun £9.50 deal but just wondered what the pools / beach / other facilities are like?

how big are they? I was going to book Primrose Valley or Preshaven Sands but then looked on trip advisor and found some people thought these sites were just tooooooo big...

I have been to Hafan y mor and enjoyed it - but did think it was a bit big...(but we were near the Entertainment so not too bad for us) are Primrose Valley, and Presthaven bigger?

    any advice appreciated..

    Hi

Went there 2 years ago. The pool is basic but fine for what is a very small site. There are outdoor flumes but we never saw these open. The pool itself was rectangular, shallow at one end and slightly deeper as it went along.

There were changing cubicles at the poolside, but no lockers.

The beach is excellent though, a private cove down a fairly steep but walkable track. It is quite sheltered by all the cliffs so not as wild as the east coast can be! Nice clean sand and water, great for the kids. There is a tractor and trailer which ferries you up and down if you like which seems to be there 10-5 or thereabouts. (A treat in itself for small kids I guess.)

We live in in Filey, near all the 3 Yorkshire Haven sites. There is NO beach access at the Blue Dolphin from the site, it is high on the cliffs. Primrose Valley is a huge site but I believe the swimming pool is very good, was built approx 3 years ago. Nice walk down a not too steep hill to the beach. As the previous poster has said - Reighton Sands is a smaller site but not so good facilities as Primrose Valley. Have you considered the Park Resorts site at Cayton Bay. There is a stunning enclosed beach but you have to walk down a hill and then some steps (no good for the disabled but would be able to carry a pushchair down the steps). The pool there is quite adequate, shallow depth to waist high, some water fountains and jets for the little ones and one water slide.

Quay West is lovely - right by the beach down some steep pathways - the outdoor pool there is great and looks out over the sea - if the weather is good Quay West is a great base for exploring beaches.

Kiln Park is another we have been to alot bigger than Quay West again right on the beach - and in a fab part of wales, with lots going on around the area.

GreenAcres is another lovely Haven site again right on the beach - a very long and open beach which you can take your car onto - the site was lovely (not sure it had an outdoor pool though)

Off to Prest haven sands in a few weeks so will see what that is like :) hoping for some lovely weather

Quick question regarding Sun holidays - we are looking to go to a Haven in Wales between 13 Aug - 20 Aug 11. Are there Sun holidays during this period at any of the Wales parks?
  • Thorpe park, Lincolnshire. It's the 1 they use in the TV advert. The 1 with the big purple bowl at the swimming pool. I went with my family in April. Highly recommended!
