My dad for example choses to use the money to pay some of his Council Tax and food bills, his brother chose to have a brand new Renault Egane Scenic, auto due to hin only having one leg.

Are you suggesting one legged people are exempt from paying Council tax then ?

I suggest you find a forum where your pointless posts are welcomed.

I also think you should learn how to read as my dad was the one that used his DLA to put towards bills and his brother that had the Motability car.

But i don't know why i am bothering to explain as you are nothing more than a childish troll.

Why do these type of threads go this way, actually why do most threads go this way. The OP never asked for opinions on her DLA or mobility rights she asked for genuine advice on what do with a new car, either offer help on the question or don't.

To the OP I have nothing more to add as you have already had some decent advice on bedding in a new engine, good luck with your new car!!
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

Good luck with your new car.
My wife is on her 6th Motability car and we think they have been a Godsend.
She has always had Vauxhalls, 5 Astras and a Vectra when they were on special offer (zero deposit).
Obviously none of these were anywhere near the same class as your Audi but the most we have paid as a deposit was £350 for an Astra Club Estate.
In 1994 when she got her first Astra she was also given a Vauxhall Teddy Bear, a bouquet of flowers, half a tank of petrol and they took a photograph of us standing in front of the car with the Motability Specialist handing the keys over.
Over the years, times have changed, the Motability Specialist still shows you all the controls. The keys are handed over with no fuss and you are advised not to drive any further than the nearest petrol station.
When you inspect the car, expect perfection but, we have never had anything wrong with any new car.
Apart from an annual service, and an MOT shortly before the lease runs out, only one of her cars has had a problem and that was just a failed brake light.
My wife has had excellent service from Motability and I hope you enjoy the experience as much as we have.

Thank you we are so relieved to be able to use the scheme now, the eligibility changed from April to allow those that fell within their very tight definition of severely sight impaired. We tried to go without a car for a while 2 years ago but I was pretty much house bound every sunny day because the light hurt too much to be outside long enough to get anywhere by public transport. Insurance is crippling us though but I can't coupe without access to a vehicle. This really will be a huge weight off our shoulders in many different ways. There's one thing that would seem so minor to another person but will make a huge difference to me and that's the simple fact that the front passenger seat has hight adjustment. Not just the angle of the back but the seat hight so when the sun is low and not blocked by my sun visor I don't have to hold my hands over my eyes (even with my glasses) I can just make my seat go up so I'm tall enough for the visor to block it :D I was so chuffed when I discovered just that one little feature lol, I'm sure I'll find plenty more too though.

I feel like a kid on Christmas eve one lol :)

Just in case you need it, Cardiff Audi is pretty close to Cardiff Gate Services but if you drive down the dual carriageway that runs south from the M4 Jn 30 a couple of hundred yards and turn right at the first roundabout, ASDA will be on your right and petrol is cheaper there.

I just bought a new Audi a couple of weeks ago and the only problem was a piece of trim missing off the door mirror, not picked up at PDI or by the Salesman who said he had been over it with a fine tooth comb. In fairness, I didn't spot it till I went round the passenger side a couple of days later but the part was easily sourced from a newly arrived vehicle (same part in same colour on all variations of this model).
It's a Audi A1 1.4 tfsi sport s-tronic, which is an automatic with a double clutch, I can either use it as a manual or auto, but I prefer to use auto and disable the stop start. It's like a little pocket rocket and feels much nippier than the Mini Cooper I had previously. It's black by the way, what colour did you choose?
My son has just bought an 08 Audi A4 avant diesel and he loves it.
Oh and to the negative poster (forgot your user name) mine is not Motability, it's paid for CASH, and yes I did say Cash. Because I am fortunate to have no disability (just arthritis in my Knees, hence the auto) and a husband with a very good job. And I wouldn't begrudge anyone using their DLA however they choose to enhance their life so enjoy your new car Jetta wales.
