I've spent the last two months treating my DS for headlice. Until my husband had a look and said it wasn't nits but dandruff. One bottle of "Head and Shoulders" later and all is well.

And yes, I do have an appointment for Specsavers. :D

ps, Hedrin is very good for nits but not so good for dandruff!

  • well i bought the hedrin once 15min treatment (£17 a bottle!!!) and he nitty gritty comb£10.40) also got a huge bottle of tea tree conditioner from wilkos for 70p. and the vosene kids 2in1 stuff thats supposedly nit repellent and their detangling spray with same stuff in it. £33 in total-eeeeekkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sat her down after school and covered her head in the hedrin gel, and i hadnt even used quarter of a bottle to saturate her hair, so i guess thats moneysaving, will have some more for should i need it. we left it for 15 mins to do the job and then i sat combing it through-got a fair few dead nits come out, that comb is great!!! they mainly seemed to be on the right side of her head around the crown, went over and over it all til the comb wasnt bringing anything else out, then took her up to wash her hair-jeez the stuff dont wash out very easily does it!!! her hair still looks a bit greasy from it but i'll tie it back up in the morning and wash/comb through again tomorrow night.

the lady in boots said not to treat myself or my son unless we find anything live in our hair. im gonna nick the vosene kin the morn to do my hair and comb it through with nitty gritty just to be sure!! still feel itchy everytime i think about it lol!!!!

If you use Hedrin, when you shampoo it out, apply the shampoo direct to the hair, before you wet it. And you'll probably need to shampoo twice!

  • I did that, used vosene twice cos it just still felt slimey, then resorted to head n shoulders, n it still looks greasy at the roots now its dry! But it'll be tied back tightly tomorrow and washed/combed thru again tomorrow night! Just used loads of the tea tree conditioner on my hair n gone thru it with nitty gritty-im clear, for now!!! Now just have to remind daddy that he needs to tie her hair back before school when shes stayed at his!!
