Mira Shower on the blink!

Mira make showers for the diy sheds (b&q etc) on the cheap, they use cheap inferior plastic parts to keep the cost down. So when you go to B&q and buy 1 for £100 quid less than a plumbers merchants, you think you are getting it alot cheaper, but in reallity you are buying a inferior product. take it back to get a refund and look somewhere else for a mira sport, a much better quality shower0

The only logical explanation can be that when you run a tap or flush the toilet the water pressure to the shower is reduced (while the tap is running /whilst the toilet cistern is filling) this drop in pressure is obviously enough to allow the defective solenoid to operate.*noodles* wrote:What we have realised is that if the shower is on and trickling water if you turn a tap on then off or flush the toilet the shower then starts to work....Can anyone shed any light on why this would happen?0 -
Hi
A slightly daft question but..... Is the shower connected to the mains water supply of the house? As opposed to a tank fed supply.

Hi
Follow pipework back. See where it tees off .

Or if the pipe work isn’t visible buried in wall etc…turn off your main stop c0ck & see if the shower still works.
Put the shower on the cold setting to try this.0 -
It was on the mains, we took the shower back last night and got a replacement.
Think the other shower was dodgy from the start as it had to be crancked onto the hottest setting all the time and if you used any other taps in the house it turned icey cold, with this replacement the water is lovely and warm at a much lower setting and I can now turn the taps on elsewhere in the house without fear of turning my bfs shower water cold.... although to be honest I will kind of miss that!!
Thanks for all your help people you've been fab (as always!!)100% MFW :j0 -
