I've decided to see this vet bill thingie as yet another challenge.
I don't make my first loan payment for Fred The Fiat until the end of the month, and was going to add the payment amount into my ISA to help repay the loan early. I've put £100 into an account for the cat fees now instead and will start PADding to that from tomorrow. If we come home with any money from our holiday then that will be put away too.
I'll list things at the next free listing day and am going to try and sell more of my cards.
It will all be fine.... *rolls eyes*0 -
Morning folks
We leave for our mini-holiday in a couple of hours (WOO!) but there's still a lot to be done. Washing to be done, bins to be taken out, petrol to be put in the car and I'm also going to Sainsbury's to get some food for the journey. I'm using our gift card so it feels freeWe still have more than enough on the card to keep me in petrol till payday so I'm happy to dip into it for that. We won't be able to use it in the north anyway as there aren't any Sainsbury's petrol stations where we're going :rotfl::rotfl:
Money
Funds left for when we return are:
PAD/Spends - £52.62 (will be PADding when I'm away too)
Entertainment - £19.82 (no nights out etc planned, so will probably PAD this the day before payday)
Groceries - £41.87 which will just be for fruit and veg really. Papa Fresian has also told me to take any meat out of the freezer that we want. He mentioned that there is Highland Cow mince in there. Om nom nom!
Loan fund is currently sitting at £1518.98 and will sit there for a while until we can put money aside for the cats vet bill. I'm comfortable with the amount of money that is there though and the current plan for the vet bill is this:
Overtime - I am getting a chunk of overtime (about £500) in October. I already had £200 of this earmarked for the crafty show in October, and will still be using this. I've been looking forward to it for too longAnything I don't spend will go to the vet bill though. That should mean £300 of my overtime money will be there for the vet bill - over halfway to the final total!
Expenses - I am going to be getting around £50 per week for my travel from work for the next few weeks. The original plan was just to put all this on the discounted Sainsbury's card and use this for petrol/Christmas. I already put £100 per month on that card for petrol as it is. The new plan will be to put £25 per week onto the card and £25 will go towards the vet bill. If I run low on petrol money I can evaluate this again, but I think it should be fine.
Holiday money - we're taking £200 with us for our five day break. The main expense will be petrol as it's touching £1.60 per litre there in some parts  We won't starve as the Family Fresian have left us loads in the fridge/freezer, so food shouldn't come to more than £20 while we're there. If we have anything left that will go towards the vet bill.
The cats aren't booked in to the vet until the end of the month. I will pay the bill on my credit card (Tesco points being the silver lining to this particular cloud!) which should mean that I won't have to pay it off until the end of November, meaning I should avoid paying interest.

Ouch
I cancelled my insurance when it doubled too. Any large bills will come out of my emergency fund, which I'm slowly building up to allow for the fact that the most claimed insurance is pet insurance!
Have a horrible feeling my porky pig of a black cat may have diabetes as she is drinking lots and lots of water, and I can't blame the weather any more!Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)

Aw noooooo but you probably wouldn't have been covered on the pet insurance anyway. Theres an awful lot of small print attached to dentistry and regular dental check ups and blah blah blah.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Morning all
We've not had particularly good internet while we've been in The North so I have been avoiding MSE (apart from popping on to PAD every day) and enjoying the break to be honest. We've had a brilliant holiday and are due to return back today. Bah and indeed humbug.
Money
PAD/Spends - £40
Entertainment - £19.82
Groceries - £41.87
Loan repayment fund - £1518.98
While we were here we got a service done on the car which cost less than £60 as we don't pay labour rates, and only cost price for parts thanks to being family :money: I had money to cover this in another account, so that was good to get done. We've also been ordered to fill the car with fuel today on Mr F's mum's account, so that's a big saving for us too. We're heading home today with £67 in cash (minus sandwich costs for the road!) although there's at least another £11 in change that I'm hiding away to go into my piggy banks
Free listing on Ebay tomorrow so I know how I'll be spending my day *yawn* but it does need doing as the Vet Bill Of Doom draws ever closer :rotfl:

So far this evening I have got myself caught up on a couple of the survey companies and requested £10 of vouchers from Mysurvey and Swagbucks. That should keep me in [strike]Kindle books[/strike] Christmas presents
I've come home with over £12 in change to go into my piggies and £55 in notes which is going to go towards the vet bill. I'll pay that in tomorrow.
I also won the cardmaking challenge this fortnight on the cardmaking thread :j so I need to think about a new challenge for the next fortnight! I plan on spending tomorrow doing quite a bit of crafting anyway!0 -
