I think I am a bit early to be lifting my garlic and shallots and am hoping for some more hot and dry soon. My dehydrator has been on twice for my onions and I have had very good results, I am so scared of white rot, having had it in one garden. One average onion weighed 460g, they are so big.

I am able to dehydrate about 3kg at a time. I am so glad I bought it (and also my electric slicer). It`ll be on none stop in a couple of days

Well I'm such a novice,.. I've read that a wet warm June can bring tomato blight. I know we need the rain, - but I'd be gutted if I lost my toms to blight. The heavy rain (easing now) means the tops of my carrots are now poking through the soil, but I don't want to pick them yet either so have shoved some more soil in to cover them - hope that works?

for blight you need 90% humidity for 11 hours on 2 days, 10 degrees or over, plus spores which can blow in from a long way away. That is why so many growers won`t grow outdoor tomatoes and why I covered my best two with great big poly bags esp for growbags. Alternating days ie wet then dry will help. It is constant wet that is dangerous
