Hi folks - been reading but not posting much lately.
hester - am enjoying reading all about the prep for next weekend. Love hearing about DGkids too.
(((hugs))) to all feeling poorly or down.
JackieG - mine both had MMR when wee but DD still caught mumps when she was at uni, aged about 20. I think it's good to have them immunised but understand everyone has diff views.

Hester I was thinking this morning, its a pity all us OS ladies can't come to you for the day, between us we would have your hand fasting feast all made in a couple of hours :D

An nab a cheeky invite to the handfasting. I am really looking forward to seeing pics of the BIG day :D
I have decided to get the children immunised for MMR. I didn't do it when they were small, but am becoming increasingly worried about them contracting measles or mumps, especially with DS1 going to High School this year. I have read all the research and the stuff which also discredited Andrew Wakefield, and decided that the risk is so minimal I think its worth it, so they are off to the nurse on the 23rd of June for that. Its never ending, this maternal guilt/worry thing, isn't it?

Initially with DS I ummed and aahed about single vacs but at £100 a pop and it required 6 injections I knocked that idea on the head. Knowing what I know now about DS quite frankly I am convinced that DS got his ASD from a combination of me and H :o DD has had it and shows no signs of ASD - OK this is all anecdotal but it's my two penneth worth ;)

Persisting down here but gardens need it and both of my water barrels are full to the brim :D

Lovely to see you posting halight, I was worried cos you were feeling poorly the last time you posted.
Have you any piccies of your chooks?

Lou ginger nut biscuits are good for morning (All day) sickness, I went through loads when I was expecting DS didn't have any MS with DD.

JackieG Your dough should be fine and in fact it will probably taste better the longer that you leave it ....it turns into a sourdough so it will be very tasty.

DH is in the loft because we have no cold water in the bathroom and that includes the cistern  Good job we have a downstairs loo.
He has just shouted down that the valve at the bottom is full of carp so he is cleaning it out and then he will put it back and hopefully we will be back to normal ( I can't do any cooking till he is finished because the water is off :()

jackie....have you had some Sudafed...as someone who gets sinusitis a lot i can honestly say it is a godsend:D

I wouldnt worry about the MMR jab....he has been totally discredited, DS had his and I know for a fact it didnt cause his autism, when we look back it was already there iykwim.

i've never found sudafed useful :o instead use a spray but cant remember what it is called... either begins with a n or a b though :rotfl:

ds has had his first mmr too. i'm very much a believer that asd is something thats always there or like bitsy said a combination of parents personalities. i think i read once that everyone asd traits.... maybe i imagined that. i've never really understood how they thought the jabs caused asd :o

Good Morning every one (only just .Well I had a great day out with Dd yesterday in Ghent,a bit showery at times but not cold at all.I was up at an unearthly hour making the picnic stuff although we did have a nice lunch around 1.00p.m. in a reccomended restaraunt for 12 euros .carrot soup and steak and chips and very large salad which included a drink we thought was pretty good value. We set off at 5.20.a.m. and arrived around 11.45.a.m. so the journey was quite a long one but the coach was comfortable and the driver a very jolly chap.My DDs work colleagues were good fun and we laughed for most of the way.We walked around and had a good look at the shops ,some of which I'm afraid we had to sample some of the Belgian chocolate from :) tough but when in Rome (or our case Belgium)one has to conform.I bought some wine and sweets and biscuity things to bring back for the tribe this afternoon. We sat in the big square and watched an open air concert and the band played mostly Chuck Berry and old rock 'n'roll stuff which I enjoyed a great deal ,real foot-tapping stuff. We found a cafe for coffee called Cafe Rene so we just had to sample some of their hot chocolate smothered in whipped cream .Good job we did a lot of walking :)afterwards .Arrived back last night around 11.00.pm. absolutely cream-crackered.Had a bit of a lie in this morning so feel more human now .Off to youngest Dds late this afternoon for dinner apart from that I shall just be pottering around I am not doing any housework or anything else today I am having the day off.Hope everyone has a good day
    Cheers chums

Well both my items for Freecycle have been collected (old printer and empty DVD cases). Both people were late! But apologised, and I'm not going anywhere today so it's ok. I'm probably going to have some more stuff to Freecycle over coming weeks too.

Weather is horrible, and it's making my tv play up - the Freeview signal can be affected sometimes in wet and windy weather :(

BB don't shoot me, but as someone who is a complete b1tch once a month myself, is it possible there is something hormonal going on which makes life a bit fraught? Just with you saying it's every four weeks - I appreciate you are probably half joking but maybe...? On the other side, putting my counsellors hat on, does your church offer couples counselling, or relationship group therapy?

JG - I don't get AF anymore....does that mean i don't get hormonal, i don't know, I only know it was 4wks as it was the last time we went to sunday club.....actually no it was 8weeks ago... Don't know about the counselling - I doubt he would go anyway, But will suggest when the silence has lifted, if it lifts....Life should be better than this :( - you've started me off now :o
