Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Today I need to clear all the surfaces in the kitchen & that will take some doing, lol. I'm moving most of the stuff upstairs apart from the Kenwood which I shall be using after work next week to make meringues to go in the Eton Mess & batches of Brownies, pastry to make Quiche, sausage rolls etc for the feast on Saturday. Hubby has the week off before the wedding, but I only have the Friday off, I just hope I get paid for it!
DGS & I had a lovely couple of hours together, we didn't do anything special, but is was good fun, he can't wait to come over again, but understands that it is his sisters turn next.
Have a good day everybody.
Hugs Hester

Good morning everyone!
It is absolutely throwing down with rain here! I put washing on the line last night, so I'm hoping the weather clears up a little - although I think I might have to give in and bring it in for another spin in the washing machine before hanging it up in the bedroom.
Shopping this morning, and then taking ds2 to a Birthday party this afternoon. Apart from that, I think we're just going to hang around at home - I have knitting I want to get on with, I think I might break out the Wii for the children.
Hope you all enjoy your days.0 -
Good Morning x
Well we had a nice evening here and Im looking forward to my cooked breakfast - diet starts tomorrow:(:( Although its nice to be in the lap of luxury for a night away - there is no place like home and Im looking forward to going back. Especially as DD posted a video of younger son playing with his dad's garden hose. Now Kids Dad is very particular about his hose so it was a case of while the cat's away :eek::eek:
Anyhow - missing my doggies so be nice to get back. My OS ways have stuck good and proper as I found myself secreting two cream cakes in my bag (in tissues) for later as they were left over from our cream tea.
Hugs xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

MOrning all.
Sorry have been MIA for a few days.
DS1 is unhappy at school & there have been a few incidences that I'm not happy with, so we're taking him out at the end of term. So we're looking for a new school from September. I am on the boarder of 2 councils so have called up both to request mid year applications.
We've had so much rain here the past few days. I've had to dry the washing in doors.
Baby woke in the night, think he had a bad dream. So at 2am we decamped to the living room. I slept on the sofa.
I can't believe how expensive food is getting. It seems like prices are rising daily. I upped my budget recently by £50 per month  and it's only just covering. I do menu plan & cook from scratch. I can't imagine how hard it must be for those who don't have the option to up their budget. Mind you, I can't up my budget much more.
Today I shall be ironing, hoovering through, swishing the bathroom & cooking/baking.
HH, all the plans seem to be coming together for your handfasting!
OK, had better get on.
Love (((hugs))) & spoons to those who want/in need

LOL this reminds me of stuff my mum did when I was a kid for our family dog :rotfl: Waste not want not
Morning my lovelies
Rain here BUT I have to say last time I went to local lakes the fishermen weren't standing on the wooden jetty's they were standing on the actual lake bed as the water levels are so low :eek: So unfortunately a bit more of the wet stuff is needed here.
So plans for today are a bit of pottering about, might cut out the fabric to my mums bag, not sure I could cope with 2 kids and trying to sew (H is in work for a bit). also need to start on DD's bunting I am making for her birthday party in July. This afternoon I am heading round to my mum and dads for a visit as my brother and his kids will be there too.
No major OS today although I have come to the conclusion I don't eat enough protein at lunchtimes so need to find a cheap way of including more of that.
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a wonderful Sunday OS or not.

Morning everyone,
It is still bright and sunny here this morning but we have had quite a lot of rain in the night, I am off to a tea party in a friend's garden this pm so I hope it stays dry.
Trying not to go to the supermarket this week so I need to look through the cupboards and menu plan this morning after church and then start sorting sandwiches for packed lunches next week, I make them all on a sunday and pop them in the freezer.
Hugs to Gintot, Lou and Jackie G and anyone else who needs them.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
