  • Rather than a mondeo how about another ford product, a Jaguar S Type R, they can be picked up for less than an RX-8, have twice the power and return similar MPG.

I had one and my boss had a PZ RX8 at the same time and can confirm MPG, tyre cost etc. is about the same but the jag is much much faster! (400HP 0-60 5.3 Seconds)
I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling ;)

Just had a quick look on AutoTrader, and although you can get them for under £4,000, the have a fair few miles (100k+) and are older. Can get a newer RX8 with less miles (around 55k) for a similar price.

Mine was a 2004 with 48k miles, and I put another 8k on. 2 miles is plenty to avoid flooding the engine.
Correct on tax, a 2005 car will be £200 per year cheaper to run. That's nearly 3 tanks of petrol, so should last about a month ;-)
