Even more so when you're not the customer. Contract is technically between his daughter and the retailer. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I bought a nice shirt from debenhams about a year and a half ago. Its been a lovely shirt, with stripes down it. But the only problem is, over the last 6 months i've piled on a few pounds and it doesn't fit very well anymore
-- infact its not been out th wardrobe for a while because of this.
Maybe i'll see if Debenhams will change it...........0 -
Hi imperial37,
Posting the same complaint in more than one thread is considered as spam. (I'll quote the relevant forum rule below for you.) The Forum Team will decide which posts are deleted and which, if any, will stay.
Best advice I can give you is to delete all your posts except the one you feel best serves your complaint.Forum_Team wrote:What's spam?
Forum users mustn't post the same forum post more than once on the forum (the only exception is members of the MSE Team; when needed). It's called spamming and most internet forums forbid it. Where spam is reported to the Forum Team posts are deleted and the user's Posting Privileges may be removed. Please don't quote any post that you believe is spam, as this causes the team more work.
Several boards on our forum have a spam button. If enough forum users click the spam button on a thread, that thread will automatically be deleted. The Forum Team may choose to leave it deleted or re-instate it.

Your daughter should have asked you to try them on at the time.
Then she would have known they were too big and she (as the customer - not you), could have taken them back for an exchange.
Debenhams are not at fault here.0 -
Firstly - why do you people even bothered to respond in such a pathetic manner? not only is it rude, but its so wrong its pathetic.
Secondly - the CUSTOMER or RECIPIENT of the item is entitled for an exchange. Especially as the jumpers were still on the shelf. Debenhams should have exchanged the items. Debenhams still offer exchanges on items where no receipt is provided and tags have been removed. So really, they have no way of knowing that the item was last seasons stock as they still sell the same product.
If the items were not still being sold - Debenhams have the right to refuse full refund for the items and only give vouchers for the current value.
However, when your daughter purchased the gifts, she should have asked for a gift receipt.
More often than not, Debenhams will honour an exchange in most cases as a gesture of goodwill.
Third - the customer is always right. You should have put up a bit of a fight0 -
Welcome to MSE, Xena.
What exactly is it that you have issues with regarding some of the responses?
From what you say in your post I'm assuming you are referring to imperial37's post.
I actually find this very strange as it no longer exists on this thread (ref post #24 by Squreaky about spamming the boards) except as a quote in post #21.Third - the customer is always right.
You are just sooooo wrong.0
