Registered with Whom if not the KC?????
Your friend has had a horrible time of it the past few days and i can only imagine her distress. I do wish her many many happy years with a loving pet
I don't know! Possibly begins with the letter 'U'?
Whatever, it doesn't matter. Friend didn't even go to buy a dog just saw her, fell in love with her and took her home. Hence her having to rush off to buy bed, toys, feeding stuff etc.
Love at first sight.
All she knew was that she wanted a small dog and wasn't averse going to the local dogs home or dogs trust or anywhere else for a puppy but this little one captured her heart. Must admit it's captured mine too!
She has just texted me to say pup has been sick. Bile not vomit so at least she kept her 3pm feed down.
Vet at clinic on discharge warned her of this and said not to worry and keep on with medication. They felt pup would be happier at home rather than spend another night in the clinic.
Friend has just phoned clinic and they said try her with some food tomorrow and if she doesn't keep that down to take her back.
Here's hoping..................0 -

Its so frightening when they are so sick and carry on with the vomiting for so long
I had a wee one that was seriously ill and the only way i could feed him was with the finger tip of tinned food from the vet every two hours. I didnt sleep for days and it broke my heart to see him struggle ( he had a major op and nearly died) so I do have an idea of how your friend feels
I hope she continues improving0 -
Im so not against breeders lol
Actually Im one of the few on the forum who do advocate going to breeders for pups
But I also advocate responsible breeding. So as long as your wee lass was a prime example of her breed, that your researched the dam, that you had the health checks done on both sire and dam,had the help and advice of an experienced breeder, had homes at the ready for the pups and had them KC registered and insured then I say go for it.
What I dont advocate nor never will are people saying my pet is wonderful Im giving her a litter and just pick any dog to service her and churn out a litter of pups in the hope of making big money quick
Now people like that Im afraid I will be snotty too
Help an advice of an experienced breeder? Lol, fat chance! The Papillon breeders club for instance got quite huffy with me for actually having a preference of colour (which was just, not black or Tri) as far as they were concerned I would be privileged to have any Pao that one of their show breeders didn't want for themselves. And when I said that I wanted a girl! Oh good grief don't be ridiculous there's no reason at all that you should want a girl! Lol, bunch of snooty old crackpots the lot of them.
But we did a lot of reeding, bought all the necessary equipment and had vet checks and ultrasound etc, even raspberry leaf tablets as they are not known to be easy wheelers but apart from the biggest wanting to come out backwards she had no difficulty at all (we got him out fine). We put her to a tiny chihuahua first to try to keep the pups small for her first litter and they cross quite nicely. We intend to find a suitable red and white or sable and white for her in the future but not for a year or so (her pups were born last Summer). So not all cross's a breed in a backyard kennel or a puppy farm."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -
Friend just phoned. She was up all night with pup, poor baby vomiting, diarrhoea and crying. At 5am she took her back to the clinic where she is undergoing more tests.0

Hi, do you mind me asking how your friend came upon this "breeder" if she wasn't actually looking for a puppy? Was it advertised locally, a pet shop, or other? Just wondering how she knew the pups were for sale.
I'm very pleased to hear pup is over the worst and now recovering. Hope she's soon fit & well and driving you all crazy“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Sorry didn't see this before my last post. Fingers crossed she'll be ok but doesn't sound too good“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Oh no, so sorry to hear the pup is ill again. This is dreadful for your friend.0
