8 week old Puppy is sick - what to do?

Couple of points.
re the poster quoting sales of goods act (OP?) yes you have recourse, exactly the same as buying a toaster or ipod. If it's broke take it back for repair or refund.
Think that's mad ? I bought a springer puppy 15 years ago with a massive hole in it's heart. Found out at the vets puppy check. I was adamant it could have surgery. My vet said it would need to be 6 months to be old enough to have surgery and the hole was that bad it wouldn't probably get there. He advised under the sales of goods act to return the puppy for refund. I was gutted but I did. The breeder had already spent the money on a holiday, but I stood my ground. She eventually refunded. Yes she probably had the pup pts or in her words "don't worry, we'll get him sorted" Awful yes but I didn't have to pay any more vets fees or have the heartache of possibly watching my 6 month old puppy that I was now well and truly bonded to die.
Also puppies can be vaccinated under 8 weeks. My latest was done at 6 weeks with durammune, fully licenced. It didn't take presumably because of mother's immunity. He had three injections in total, his two puppy ones plus a booster. He then had two vanguard immunisations (my dogs' usual vaccine) which did take, each time with a titre test after each, cost about £100 a needle ! Insurance doesn't cover this and if they had never taken insurance would be impossible without the "must have yearly vaccinations"
Even for experienced owners and breeders we learn something. I will always have a dog titre tested after vaccination and before boosters. I've also since found out that my pup's brother has IOHC so here's another potential problem. This is genetic so do I go back to the breeder and ask for part payment for something clearly picked up from the breeder ? This could cost me hundreds but the only way of detecting it reliably is with a CT scan. How many breeders are going to pay for a CT scan for their !!!!! on top of other health screening. Can you imagine the cost of the pups ???0 -

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
She is a Westie crossed with a Bichon Fris (is that how you spell it?) and is around 11 weeks old now.
She is a proper little madam and walking is a nightmare because everyone we meet has to pick her up!
I haven't seen her for a few days but am down for walking duties on Friday evening!0 -
Awwwww, sweetheart!
So glad she's recovered and doing well.
