Right, final update for this evening.
Nurse from clinic rang and said they obviously let her out too early yesterday.
Blood tests clear and she is continuing to improve.
Still in isolation and still not watered or fed but on drip and will be all night.
If she continues to improve (and if she doesn't they are talking of operating) then she MAY be home Tuesday.
If she was a well or bigger puppy then they would be happy with her current levels but as she is so small and been so poorly they want them to be higher before they let her home.
    Keep everything crossed please.

Awaiting 3pm update but so far puppy on drip as potassium and something else (?) was very low.
Probably caused as a result of all the fluids she lost both ends.
Unless a miracle occurs she won't be home tonight and if the gastro enteritis has caused a bowel problem (does small bowel going into big bowel sound right?) then they will have to operate.
I will find out how to post pics of the little beauty so you can see her.

This sounds very much like a case of an intussusception where one portion of the bowel slides into the other, much like the pieces of a telescope. It certainly does cause severe vomiting and diarrhoea. It's treatable so fingers crossed the pup will feel much better after the op :)

How's little one today? Hope she's still improving. Does she have a name yet?

I have just got in from work but friend texted me a bit earlier.
Puppy taken off the drip today and has been eating!
She has to phone the clinic at teatime and they will let her know whether she can come home this evening.
    Fingers crossed!
