1. Finished my NVQ2 in hairdressing and started working in a salon this week as a stylist
2. Am getting my PPI back from Lloyds after an 18 month battle (and thanks to some help from DFW's)
3. Separated from husband recently-still trying in vain to find a property to live in but its amicable and we are both trying to make sure the children are as happy as they can be.
That's about it-but more than enough for me!
Nice to catch up with everyone

Beanie-omg. They grow up so quickly dont they?Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Oh, and considering going bankrupt after divorce gone through.
We have hardly any equity in the houses so won't end up with a great deal after everything is split 50/50.
We'll see...Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -

thinking of you dangers.
Go hair stylist Bunny - are you enjoying working in a salon? If you have to go bankrupt then it is just what you need to do. Great that you are amicable and thinking of the kids.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Beanie - all I can think of is the poem about "when I am an old woman I will wear purple". I am at a loss as to where the bag comes in, so I can't see that you need one.
Anyone heard from Claire? I've not heard of her in months and wondered how she was getting on.
Ames - is there no way you can buy a house? No disability organisations can help you find a way to do it? Have you got the money locked up so you can't spend it too easily?
Def a good idea to buy clothes before the old ones fall down - be embarassing to get arrested for flashing in public! :eek:Hey Ames
Why cant you buy a house?Hello all ... Pleased to 'see' you all. Buffy, glad to hear your news, beanie - wow at your son having driving lessons, hugs to Ames. Sorry, being thick here, but why can't you put the money you have received from your mum not allowed to be put towards a house?
Life not too great here - dad is doing well following an eleven hour operation to remove his tumour, but sadly my m-i-l passed away a week ago following a long illness.
Catch up with you all again soon...
I can't buy a house because the income support people say that it would be deprivation of capital, and that I was doing it deliberately so that I could stay on benefits. If I do buy a house I'll be treated as having the cash still, so I'd have to manage without my Income Support or Council Tax Benefit. The really stupid thing is that in the long run it'll cost the state more in benefits than it would if I bought a house, but because it's across different departments they don't have to think about that.
I'm waiting for DIAL to get back to me about it, there's a small chance I can buy a house, but it's probably not going to be allowed.
I'm gutted cos of how crap this house is, I was really looking forward to somewhere with heating and nearby parking. I tried phoning to ask if I'd be allowed to pay for central heating and improvements to this place (council flat) but they hung up on me.
Anyway, enough of me moaning!
Bunny, I'm so sorry to hear your news, I really hope things work out for you x
Dangers, I'm sorry for your news too, hugs xUnless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
 Katsu, thanks for starting this thread.
:T Buffy, congrats on your near DF'ness, you deserve it!Dangers, hope your Dad get better soon
Bunny, glad you have got a stable career (sp) but sorry to hear about your split. Good luck finding a new home.
Sorry to hear about your Mum Ames, never knew.
 Beanie...
So me, well I left and when I came back you were all goneI have finally got a full-time job but work two jobs. After nearly 4 years I bought my first car and am planning a road trip.
