Thanks Pedro, will definitely look at contacting them if no joy by Friday this week.
Saw the Registrar today and asked her to please please track down the forms and sign them.
We were assured that she would do this after she had finished clinic.
Haven't complained just yet but will do so if we end up waiting yet another week.0 -
minxy the idea of PALS is to resolve your issues asap, they try to avoid you making a complaint, as it has an effect on the hospitals rating. They do of course look into complaints but they prefer to address your issues beforehand.
hope you get on ok.Campaigning to recycle Insurance Policies into Toilet Paper :rotfl:

Oh I see Pedro. Hopefully, we won't need to go down that road anyway as we have been assured the forms were posted yesterday. We shall see!0

Spoke to Scottish Widows this afternoon who confirmed that the Consultants report has finally arrived!! A nervous wait now (not sure how long) to see if the claim is going to be paid. At least all the paperwork is in the right place anyway.0

Well, that's some good news, and hopefully you'll have more in 1-2 weeks time.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Thanks Gadget, we're keeping our fingers crossed.0

Had an update from Scottish Widows today. They said that the report received from the Consultant was 'confusing' so their own doctor was having a look. Not liking the sound of this at all.0

I'm sure that what the consultant wrote would be very clear to those "versed in the art" hence needing to wheel in such a person.
I get the feeling that this is one is neither black nor white due to being very rare.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Hi Gadget, yes my husband thought the same as you. We've got an appointment at the bank tomorrow to discuss our mortgage and what our options are should the insurance not pay out. We've got 3 months left of my husbands full pay and then it drops to half pay so we're trying to get things in place before we start struggling.0

Well, we had a call this afternoon to say that Scottish Widows are paying the claim. The money will be deposited into our account within 3-5 days. We can't believe it, it's such a huge relief to know that we can pay off our mortgage and there will be money left over to enjoy life a little. The only hold up has been with the Consultant. Scottish Widows have done everything on time and kept us informed. Critical Illness Insurance certainly paid off for us and we hope anyone waiting for a decision gets the same outcome. Of course, it doesn't take away the cancer but it means we can concentrate on that alone without the worry of losing our home. Thanks to everyone for your advice, this forum has been a great help to us. :beer:0
