Stuffed under a closet under the invisible menu - or you have not imported them into Chrome from Firefox.

It didn't give me a choice to import them from Firefox though. Oh well i'll stick with Firefox for now.

In Linux systems firefox works better and is generally faster.

I find that to be the general case with all software for Linux - faster and stabler.

Flash is an absolute pain... I don't trust Adobe and I don't trust their code - it's bloaty, badly written, and over the years has been hit by numerous security exploits..

    Five days later....

    Wed, 15 Jun 2011 17:08:19 +0200 (CEST)

[Yet another] critical vulnerability has been identified in Adobe Flash Player 10.3.181.23 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris, and Adobe Flash Player 10.3.185.23 and earlier versions for Android.

This memory corruption vulnerability (CVE-2011-2110) could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.

There are reports that this vulnerability is being exploited in the wild in targeted attacks via malicious Web pages.

Yeah thought of you when I read the latest!

Like Sun Java, most updates are just dealing with the continual stream of exploits.

Problem with Flashblock I've been noticing is that it sometimes appears to load the flash content first before hiding it, might be a 64bit thing. I'll have to look into it more; last I checked it had some sort of issue with flash content in a frame. Still, make websites less noisy so definitely a keeper but better overall to rely on sandboxie or noscript for security purposes.

And the Flash security update came just 9 days after the previous one! http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2011-2107

Cheers, I've just installed noscript! It looks good!

EDIT: better take a closer look at things here!

I don't personally use Noscript, even though when I tried it recently I was nicely getting through whitelisting the appropriate sites. The problem for me was that it significantly slowed down the performance of browsing on my netbook. The netbook makes a great 'detector' for slow software, excluding weird conflicts etc ;)

Just try Opera - by far the best at the moment. Used to have FF as a backup to IE, now it's Opera first choice with IE as a backup :) FF has been removed from all my machines.....
