The latest version of Firefox doesn't work properly.
When you middle-click on a link, it is supposed to open it in a new tab in the current window, but instead it opens it in another one.
I upgraded on one PC, but I plan to revert to 3.x when I get around to it.
There was a thread about this problem on the Firefox support site, but when I posted saying I had it too, I got a rather terse mail from the mods saying I should start my own thread instead.0 -
I'm having the same trouble with Firefox, but i haven't a clue what you are all saying about fixing it, so I'm stuck. Only went on it because i couldn't get my gmail up with ie9. Back to them now as that seems to be sorted. O i wish i knew what you are all talking about. I'd love to be even a little be of a techie0

There is a diagnostic procedure http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox which will effectively teach you all things Firefox if you are interested.I'm having the same trouble with Firefox, but i haven't a clue what you are all saying about fixing it, so I'm stuck. Your post highlights the fact that Firefox needs fixing all too often. It is just a browser and should work and update as intended without any problems. Most people won't be interested in fixing it and will just move on to something else.
I had a loyalty to Firefox and spent all too long creating new profiles, doing clean reinstalls and anything else I could think of. Nothing seemed to improve it much.
Eventually I got fed up with spending all my time troubleshooting, so I uninstalled and moved on.
It does have some unique features which some find indispensable, but for me it has become too much trouble.:(0 -
O my god Andrew, went into that, was lost after the first 2 sentences. But will study it, something might click.0

Take your time. There is no rush. You don't have to be an expert overnight.:) God knows I'm not.
You have made my point though. Most people will use another browser instead, like I do.0
