DH was up all night with a bad tooth and has pinched some of my VERY strong pain killers,he says he thinks it's an abcess,so I;m assuming it will need more than pain relief

Thanks

Hi LIH - I could not find a dentist, locally, who would do an 'emergency' extraction. I was given a number, for a NHS only centre about 10 miles away, rang them and was told that I would need to bring £15.50 in cash, but, as it was an abcess, they suggested I go to my doctor first, to get some antibiotics as they don't like 'pulling' a tooth whilst the abcess is inflamed.
My doctor actually reccomended that, on completion of the antibiotics, I go to the Dental Hospital, in Bristol, as they would give emergency treatment for free. I don't know if you have a Dental Hospital near you, but my daughter recently went to the one in Manchester and they did an excellent job for her, including replacing 'black' fillings with nice white ones - she is going back for more treatment. The treatment is, usually, given by students under supervision and they have the latest technology.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. 20 quid on Gas and Electricity
1.20 on an envelope and postage for new job contract.
55 pounds on shopping :O :O :O
However, in my defence, I used the Tescos beauty vouchers to get money off and bought bath foam, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and styling stuff for the next month if not two. Also wipes and nappies for the next month. Then a load of fresh fruit, meat that was on offer and a couple of other bits and bobs.
Am seriously panicking now about next month, but will moan away in my thread as opposed to clogging up this one

Nothing worse than toothache at Christmas.
If it helps I have this number for the NHS emergency dental service - 0845 7581926. I think it's national, but I got it from the NHS website so it should be okay. If you get the answerphone, leave a message and they will ring back very quickly.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser.
