Railway Station Parking Ticket

They work for the TOC, and although mostly non-genuine Byelaw tickets, even a PPC could in theory produce Byelaw tickets on behalf of East Coast. As in this case it looks as though East Coast is producing their own tickets, that alone worries me, as that's not cheap to do, and TOCs rarely do this, only if they are Byelaw tickets. Could be wrong of course, but it seems very strange, especially since they appear to use the same procedures as that of the Penalty Fares procedure."If"
Worth a punt in my book.
My senses say its a bullsh£t PPC from a private train company who lease the station.
Its up to the OP what they do but I certainly know what I would do.0 -
What is needed, if possible is the OP to upload a scan of his ticket, personnel details blanked.
Follow the instructions in this thread on how to upload pictures, if your unsure on how to do that.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Is anyone aware of an actual case that has made it to Magistrate's Court ?
I would also check that the car park is in fact 'part of the railway'.
We need to see the ticket.0 -

I agree with you, I think it's worth ignoring at this stage too, real bylaws Railway parking tickets are like hen's teeth, sooo rare! I can count on one hand the number of real ones I have seen posted about on pepipoo forums, and I am on there every day since I joined about 3 years ago.
And if the owner is responsible then surely the driver can ignore at first and then there will be a letter sent to the owner - or nothing at all. If a letter is sent to the owner then that should soon reveal by its wording the true nature of this parking 'penalty'.
But no harm in getting pepipoo's advice on this one, post a pic of the ticket and a link to the Rail website wording, in a new topic and ask for their opinions:

HTH and I do understand your caution here, Simon, there's a chance this is 'real' but it's so unclear I would not rush to pay it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Wow!
What a huge response to my query.
I am trying to establish whether if I claim I do not know who the driver was at the time, they will still be able to enforce payment of the ticket from the owner of the car. I have used this technique with a dodgy parking firm before but not sure if it will wash with East Coast Railways.
It was suggested I scan the ticket for public perusal, I have done it but I don't know how to get it on the forum in public view
Thanks so much for all the interest.
Bottom line: Can I claim I do not know the driver and tell them they need to prove who it was to pursue the penalty?

As I said, if a genuine byelaw ticket, then the owner is liable. The image didn't work by the way!PooroldSimon wrote: »Wow!
