We are in France any most people drive French cars except the farmers who have old Mercs. Anyway which cars are made in France, Toyota Yaris is for example and lots of Renaults etc. are not!0

well after all my moaning about no french cars I ended up with Citroen Piccasso 2006 with 36k on the clock. Jury is still out on if I like her or not but it seems to do the job.
Can't remember who asked but if it had been a VW golf that went on fire or an audi or anything else the same way then yeah I would feel the same. The driver of the recovery truck who uplifted the renault said that was the 4th fire in renaults he had heard about recently and not that long after there was a bit in the local paper about a pug 308 catching fire in the middle of the night with an electrics fault. Makes me a bit nervy TBHMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

If it is worth anything, I have never heard of a Picasso spontaneously bursting into flames. Did he tell you how many Fords he had seen burnt out?The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

never under any circumstances would i buy a new or used french car of any kind and unless you want to spend your life and hard earned money forever fault finding then you should follow this sound advice.
electrics across the full range of petrol and diesels fall well below acceptable and are known to overheat due to moisture and fail which is the most common fault leading to knock on problems and very expensive to diagnose and repair. cheap components and build quality lead to parts literally coming away in your hands and strange noises around suspension and engine mounts are common which is annoying and expensive to repair then there are the numerous fluid leaks which constantly plague these cars and the dreaded engine management light which is triggered simply by changes in weather conditions but must not be ignored as you never know why exactly it has triggered for in the first place and as its renault it could be any amount of things...the customer service is only what i can describe as arrogant and apart from a free coffee they offer once cars are booked in for service/repair dont expect much else. dont be surprised hours after picking up you renault following repairs or service that problems re occur at which renault will ask you to fork out more for diagnoses and deny any wrong doing on there part. for me fords are the only cars to drive/own but having said that if you dont like ford your self anything else is still way above renault...if renault made shoes we would all have wet feet and not getting very far...be warned...be very very warned dont buy a renault.0 -
Aside from all that, buying Frog motors only encourages the Frogs to think it's OK to be a Frog.
Remember Agincourt, Crecy, Waterloo, etc, etc.

Oh dear, I see we have another who thinks they have driven every French ever made.
