Definately never been to France.
Back to the op though, if you need three kiddy seats or boosters in the back, you'll be hard pushed to find many cars that you'll fit them into.
Xsara Picasso fits three child seats in the back, perfectly. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
don't touch a zafira, even with someone else's bargepole
i don't know why you are opposed to french cars, but the best buy for you would be french
you want a renault espace
you could even look at, "and yes i know they are butt ugly" a fiat multipla0 -

Did you have a bad one once?0 -
no, parents had a bad oneDid you have a bad one once?
2 friends have had dodgy ones, one of them was silly enough to buy a second one, that one was rubbish too.
there is not one motoring website that i can think of that would say a good word about them
there's also lots of posts on this site about how rubbish they are0 -
Drive anywhere in France, you see 2cv's going back to the 50's, and every other car the french made ever since. They appear to last forever over there.
If you've seen the price of used cars in France, you'll understand why they make them last forever... (although servicing isn't cheap either)Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
I would quantify the Zafira issue. Don't buy a mk2 with the Fiat diesel lump.
Dpf issues will kill the engine at worst or at least out you inti limp mode due to incomplete regens.
The petril mk2 is ok, no more problematic than any other petrol car.
All regualr forum members know my NHS Trust has had 350 new shape diesel Zafiras and they have been a pig, the petrol Astra hatchbacks and estates though have been near faultless.
I would happily have a petrol Zafira then put it on LPG if i did high miles, with Flashlube to protect the valves.
I must admit that the interior od the Zafiramk2 has stood up to our abuse fairly well, just continual.issues with the aircon and vents, but that may be down to when they fit the mdt screen, satnav and bluelight gubbins as they strip the dash to do that.0 -

I don't change my cars often. Peugeot 309 new in 1987. In 10 years, only expense over and above normal maintenance was a new brake servo and master cylinder. Traded it in for a new Megane 2.0l. Had that 14 years - again only major expense a new aircon compressor. Just traded that for a Mk3 Megane. It's how they're treated - like any car. The way I see some cars being mistreated it's a surprise they don't break down more often.0 -

Quite agree.
I've had a Zafira for 7 years, before that a Fiat Tempra for nearly 10 years, and my wife has a phase 1 106 for the last 4 years.
No major expense on any of them, and I would happily buy the same again.
Maybe some people will have problems no matter what they own.0
