Clarity card use

I have the Halifax clarity card and will soon be travelling to Spain. The card charges a reasonable 12.9% annual interest. I'm wondering though if I can reduce the amount of interest I pay by either paying money into the card account before I go or paying off the cash withdrawals I make by logging onto the account while I am away. Or will they still charge me a months interest on the money anyway?

I was told by Clarity CC customer services that you can't put the account into credit.
If you do the funds will be returned to the account it was paid from and/or the account 'stopped' due to 'suspicious' activity.

OK thanks. I assume though if my account on-line said I had withdrawn £100 I could pay that amount in and avoid charges?

make sure they have actually activated your card before you go to Spain - i rang them to activate it when I received mine but was unable to use it in Spain as they hadn't completed the process which I found out on my return

Not avoid completely, but interest charges for the few days between the transaction and the payment hitting the accountwill be minimal. (About 3.5p per day for £100)
