That happened to me the other day, I did have gloves on as I always do but they were nice new ones, its disgusting. I used to like cats but not anymore im afraid:(

It happened to me recently too - and, to make matters even worse, the thing was pulsating with maggots (I actually retched) yuk yuk yuk

Interesting poppysarah. High time for this to be re-visited IMO. Not holding my breath though.

I agree. It will take a pretty determined individual to take it on - maybe via a Downing St e-petition ?? (It would need 100,000 signatures but, as this comes up so frequently in EVERY gardening forum I've ever read, joined or heard about, it may not be as impossible as it seems ???)

    We can hope ... ;)

Oh I wasn't trying to make it a cat v dog thing. It was more of a public poo vs private poo affair! Unwanted poo appears everywhere but cats have a smaller range so it's more likely to be in a garden. Dogs have bigger range, more likely to poo in public places so people are less bothered about it.
Also you make it sound like the fox is an on and off problem. It is a constant problem in our garden. They come every night and poo in my garden despite my best efforts to secure the borders. The council will do nothing as "most people like them coming in and choose to feed them". I too get poo on my hands, it's just not cat poo.
Yes I think people should be limited on the number of cats they have in an urban environment. Two cats is plenty for anyone, so is two dogs, two chickens, two chinchillas. Maybe there should be rules about how many pets you can have based on the square footage of your property. It's the sort of thing these new city Mayors could get passed as bye-laws. I imagine the problem comes because people have excessive numbers of pets.
What I can't understand is people who suggest using guns and poison against cats or setting their dogs on them. That is illegal and nasty and I would call the RSPCA and the police on anyone I thought was guilty of it. Would you stand by and watch a dog savage a cat? Would you stand and watch someone with a gun shooting cats? If you would then you probably need to take a long hard look at what kind of human being you really are because it's not a long leap from condoning shooting cats and other animals to condoning shooting people's bothersome children whose ball keeps coming over the fence, or those traveller people who make a mess on the side of the road.
Oh and I voted for the dog in BGT so I am not a cat fanatic.
Well behaved women rarely make history.
