Keep the cat out my garden!

Well I won't be offering to hire out my border collie that's for sure
. Yes she tears up the garden after them making a lot of noise and yes they usually take off. But if one turns and stares at her, she stops dead in her tracks. And if they stare at her too long, she does a back step worthy of Britains Got Talent.
. Nor does it deter said cats from repeat visits.

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

I have a lot of cats that visit our garden. Ideally, I would like to stop them from sauntering across our wall, so I would like to lay something across the top, which would prevent them from doing this? Any reasonably priced suggestions that would be an effective deterrent?0

I think I just found them, so I will install them 1st, & see what's the effect?
Update
Well, I stuck some of the strips on top of our wall (where they seem to access our garden), and it has reduced down the number of cats walking across, to one!

This one seems to get mainly good reviews
Amazon.co.uk: Customer Reviews: PestBye Battery Operated Cat Repeller
But I'm looking at the Catwatch too. Can humans hear the noise?
It makes quite a soft clicking noise - if you want it to stop clicking when you are in the garden I put a plant pot over it and it stops.0 -
A bit off topic but at one point I had moles in the garden (heaps of earth and tunnels under the lawn). I bought a battery operated thing which you embed in the ground - it just sends out regular peeps (I think it vibrated too ). It had next door checking their smoke alarms!
Anyhow I was discussing it with a neighbour. 'It does work', I said. 'They've gone'. 'Yes', she said. 'They're in mine now...' :rotfl:0 -
Lion or tiger poo!. The bigger the cat, the tangier the poop. Any local tom who fancies his chances of a swift crap in your rose bed will take one`whiff of the super-moggie poop then think to himself, I'm not sure what kind of kitty dumped that jobby, but I am definately not hanging about to find out. Best chat to your nearest Zoo for availability. Good luck....0

Chilli - didn't work and the rain washes it away
Lemon scent - expensive, rain reduces impact and it didn't work even for 12 hours
Fresh used coffee grounds - rain washes away and it looks a sight.
Human urine - I'm saying nothing...
Chicken manure pellets (from B&Q) - good for the garden and not unsightly on soil. Possibly working but I have to stop my dog from eating them
Holly leaves - I've got a mixture of holly leaves/sprigs AND manure pellets where stuff is growing. Not practical for a whole garden but protection for selected areas. Reportedly the holly leaves go on working even when decayed0
