there is no high pitched noise unless something goes across the beam and then the frequency is far higher than the audible range heard by humans The expensive catwatch works 100%. I wouldn`t waste my money in a cheap one

Just bumping an old thread to say I went to my local hardware store for moth balls as a cat repellant but apparently that formula is now banned by the EU :(. However they say the Asian supermarket in town is doing a 'hot' trade in vindaloo powder as a deterrent.
Having just planted a row of potatoes under a ridge of fine tilled earth (prime toilet space for cats) I'm going to try it and report back!

Some old fashioned ironmongers still stock real moth balls but it may take a while to find the right shop. Alternatively BM Homestore stock cat and dog repellent which works quite well although as a powder it has a tendency to blow away and it needs reapplying after rain.

Have you tried coal tar soap grated up? Failing that dig the poo up and deposit it back over the offending neighbours fence the cats will then think that their own garden is the toilet?

my neighbour is convinced i hate her cat (because i put up some trellis to keep it out and get some privacy - only 5ft fence- and basically her cat had the run of my garden) despite telling them that i like cats.... however truth be told i just dont like it in my garden doing its business, i've tried tea, chilli, bottles of water (reflections scares em) and none of it works...

it can go badly... my neighbour kindly told me that her cat was more important and then told me what i can and cant be doing in my garden,

but there is a method of getting rid of the cat when i put half of bucket of cold water over it.. then it moved... havnt seen it since in my garden,

Next door but one has 5 cats. Another neighbour used to have 9. It wasn't so much the desecration of new seed beds but the morning array of furry and feathered corpses. It was like an episode of Kill Bill round here..
Anyhow a trawl of the net has seen recommendations for a scattering of holly leaves or chicken manure pellets which I will try. In the meantime I've planted short bamboo sticks around my potatoes - hopefully to deter digging and squatting. As Corporal Jonesey would say 'They don't like it up em!'
I've also got little bits of cloth round some sticks which I will keep sprayed with a peppermint solution.
I do like the idea of returning the poo though. I have one of those long plastic thingies with a cup shape at the end for throwing dog balls. Perhaps I could use it for lobbing poo! :T
Last resort is one of those sonic repellers which actually seem to work.

How would you know it was your neighbours cat? Could be another neighbour one and it will only lead to a downward spiral and the cat is only doing whats natural - whereas you picking it up and throwing it about isnt.

I just knew someone would bite at this...:D
Ps the above comment might give the impression that it's the cat being picked up. Not so but nevertheless an idea.
