Ebay Seller Threatening To Come Round To My House To Collect

I recently bought a used DVD player with surround sound system on an Ebay Auction. When it arrived everything worked (CD, radio etc) except DVD player part even when tested with 10's of perfect discs.
I contacted to see if he could be of any help or had a solution. His reply said to send it back and get a refund. He said he was selling for a friend and refused to cover the cost of returning item which is 75% of the purchase cost. He also started accusing me of breaking it etc and I completely lost faith in his integrity.
I took it to resolution claiming he should cover return costs and eventually after escalating it Ebay gave me a full refund. The seller is now threatening to come around to my house unannounced to collect it (a long drive). He says he won't arrange a delivery company to collect because he does not think I will hand over the parcel. I feel threatened and do no want him coming around. What can I do?

He is actually entitled to have his goods back so you need to arrange a time with him to be in to hand them over at the door. Just have them packed and ready and have someone else in the house with you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Send it back at your expense , or put up with it at the door.

Thanks for the quick replies.
I have no problem with him having it back, it's packed and ready to go.
I just wish we could have communicated better in the first place. All I wanted was to be left in the state I was before buying it. Now I have the worry of having an irate person banging on my door at time. My guess is that he will not be coming down just to collect and may not come alone. What about option C "him arranging it to be collected by a courier" which he refuses to do even though it is cheaper than coming around to collect?0 -
Looks like to me he/she is fully entitled to call to collect it. Arrange a date and time and if you do not want to meet the person ask a friend to be there instead when he/she collects it.0

Have it ready at the door and hand it to him. That is all you have to do. You do not have to unvite them in to your house.0

yes he /she sure sounds like they are going to cause trouble, explain your happy to do so, provided... if he causes trouble, you will have a witness with you who hands over the item, with you standing aside, and get them done for breach of the peace if he causes any bother:j HEATHER :¬) :T

The seller is entitled to colllect and you cannot specify how it is collected. Sellers do have some rights under the distance selling regs and can enforce the right to collect just as you enforced the right to a refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Something unusual has happened here. Are ebay now enforcing a refund without return of goods?0

What is the law regarding this?
I am not trying to deprive him of anything and I am not trying to get any gain. I would assume that both parties legally would have to be reasonable. I think I am reasonable to expect that a breach of the peace might occur and fear for my safety. It must also be unreasonable to turn up unannounced when it's just as easy (or easier) to let me know in advance. Also if there are 2 options for him to get it back surely he is unreasonable to pick the more expensive option which has the potential to be seen as threatening which I do and likely to end with a breach of the peace.0 -
How much did you pay for it? I had something courieres from one end of the country to the other and only paid about 8.000
