Then he said the wrong words to me "I would marry you tomorrow if I could"

Next time he says that, why don't you say "well why don't you then? What's stopping you?"

He had only ever said it once and to be honest my heart sank knowing that every one else married someone else
I have asked about it and he says it doesn't feel right... But it did within a year for your last one grrrrrrrr
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

  • I can imagine that must be gutting to hear :(

I was popping on to see if anyone had mentioned this. OHs proposal was a bit lame (he ended up tossing the ring at me across the table as he got nervous and panicked)

I was musing having a proper proposal today, but we are both in work until 6pm then going to pick up a sofa from freecycle. Romantic, eh?
  • Just thought I'd stop by, see how everyone was, have a bit of a rant.

One of boyfriends friends got engaged and they've only been together like five minutes. It's really stupid but I've really wound myself up about it. After nearly 10.5 years I can't get a sniff of a proposal but her new man decides it's meant to be within the year! Well that's not fair.

Going to a wedding this weekend also - just not in the mood to celebrate someone else's happiness.

I so know that feeling, chica. 10 years for me and OH this year and he's planned a holiday for our anniversary- part of me wants to have s tiny hope but I know it's fruitless :( . His brother always swore he would never get married and he proposed to his partner after ten years so part of me is hoping the same! Wedding season is always a nightmare :(

    Wedding season is incredibly tough!
Coming up to 6 years now...:(

He says the more people pressure him the less likely he is to do it!

I don't even want a big fancy wedding, just a party with everyone coming together and having a great time (I know that in itself will be expensive)

Ok, brace yourselves for some Hollywood romance! Not. :)

The OH and I, driving back from the weekly shop at the weekend (stop swooning all of you!) chatting about my friends in the USA who I am missing very much at the moment:

OH: Next time we visit them, we should go to the State Fair.
ME: Yes! You'd love that! It's an experience... :)
    OH: When is the Fair?
    ME: Not sure. Summer, sometime.
OH: Well, if we get married next year we could go visit {friend}as a honeymoon and go to the State Fair then.
    ME: *open mouthed, stunned silence*
    OH: What??
ME: Is that a proposal then?
OH: Well, I suppose so. I might do a proper one closer to the day.
ME: Right. Best we book it then.

*cue stirring orchestral soundtrack, fireworks, bluebirds, etc etc*

So I rang the registry office and booked it. We're getting married on the anniversary of when we met, next August. Eeek!

We've decided not to tell any one until much closer to the day because we don't want to have a "wedding" as such, and that will no doubt cause much grumbling and gnashing of teeth from the Great-Aunts. And not telling anyone is killing me so I had to spill it here! You guys are the first to know!
