Hi there
I have my iPhone insured though Lloyds TSB with my Platinum current account for some time now. My (18 month old) iPhone is pretty knackered now having been dropped on the floor numerous times with the screen having a large block of black lines across the front of it and the speaker and microphone keep not working a lot of the time which is making the phone pretty unusable.
(Sometimes I just get a massive hiss noise coming from the phone).
So I thought it was best if I put in a claim with then.
Has anyone had any experience with Lloyds TSB Mobile Phone Insurance who can make any suggestions on how to play this?
Thanks

You can't claim for ware and tare, that not what its for.
Anything else is fraud.0 -

A claim for wear and tear and frequent misuse is fraud .
You are going to fill in a form that requires you to make a truthful claim .

Are you saying then that the only "Claim" one can make is against a lost/missing or stolen phone?
Not one that is damaged or is now not working correctly (whether it was damaged or not)?0 -
You actually need to read the terms and conditions of the insurance policy .
Insurance is probably for theft or accidental damage not wear and tear if it was for wear and tear and stuff not working then insurance would never be offered .
Not one that is damaged or is now not working correctly
You cannot claim agains a non working phone you may be able to claim against a damaged phone but that depends upon the insurance policy and may well not cover old damage .
Be careful mobile insurance false claims are high on the agenda due to the very large number of false claims .
If you think you are in the right fill the form in along with the contents of your first post .

Can i repeat check the insurance details as you may be covered for theft accidental damage only or even breakdown depending upon the type of cover .

just been through a smilar claim for my iphone 3gs. My screen was smashed, sent for them to repair. They say they couldnt fix it, and offered me £270 for ME to replace via amazon market place. They do not send u a new phone.
This gets worse.... It now seems that as it is unrepairable, standard practice is to destroy the phone and it will not be sent back to you! thi sis a major pain as orange will replace my phone for less than £200(next day i might add, not in 3 weeks like lloyds take) only if i send back my original phone.
at the time of them offering me £270 i was not made aware of the fact they would destroy it and not send it back to me!0 -

When they say destroy, what they'll mean is that they'll "clear/flash" the phone, test it, and then sell it onto third parties or pass it off as a refurbished 'working' phone to their own customers if it's proftiable for them to do so. Their termonology will be fine under the terms and conditions, but the image they'll put on their customers is a picture of a phone being thrown into a big bucket with a crusher coming down on top of it
