New tyres - rear of car wobbles
Comments

Really, In the five years I spent fitting tyres all day every day I never did
i did when i was being taught
ive no idea what the rims on this car are like but you will know if they have a deep well so the bead is difficult to break it puts an enormous strain on everything till it goes,on my machine this can damage the rim but mine is an old machine but we have no idea of equipment in this garage or experiance of fitter
one last thought ,how many times have you had to stop a customer putting their finger in the space before the tyre pops on:D0 -
The balancing shouldnt make your rear seats wobble but warped tyres would.
it would once it gets to its harmonic frequency
i always equate it to bus seats wobbling to the throbbing engine on tickover0 -
I must admit i have never heard of anybody damaging a wheel getting a tyre off, other than scratches on an alloy wheel.
How hard where you pressing on it to damage it?0 -

they were mini rims in this instance i was fitting tyres
fortunately they were a mates so i got away with it
it was because i didnt have the bead in the well on fitting
something just as applicable today if bead and rim not soaped
my bead breaker can fling a rim out though if it slips on say a kling long0 -
it's the tyres.
That's the only thing you have changed.
They're from the same batch, they have the same fault.
Take them back and get a different date code, or better still a different make of tyre put on.
ditto the above, its the only thing thats changed.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
;discussion/3282748]Got Kia Sedona (big 7 seater people carrier).
Anyway, got new tyres on the back and since then I'm sure it looks
like the back seats are wobbling around. I can also feel vibration
through the car.
This seems to happen when I reach 50-55mph. Go faster and it stops...
So went back to garage and they rebalance the wheels. No difference.
Went back again and they changed the tyres.
Its better now but not brilliant so it cant just be the tyres. Any other ideas?
I was thinking of maybe putting spare wheel on in case one of my wheels is out or something (although wouldnt the garage have had problems balancign wheel?)
i would say the problem isnt with the tyres more with the clown that balanced them, not all wheels balance in the same way ie in the same place, some on both outer edges, some on one outer edge and one inside the rim, and most alloy wheels dont have weights positioned in the same way that steel wheels do.
out of balance rear wheels will shake the dentures from your grans mouth in the front seat. best advice is to get them rebalanced correctly at the garage F.O.C0
