New tyres - rear of car wobbles

I have read about similar issues where the cause was cheap, poorly made tyres.

When premiums where fitted car was back to normal.

I have noticed a bit of wheel.wobble, very, very slight withese cheap Sava tyres, but i need new wheels aswell as i have hit a couple of potholes over thelast year and had to knock the rim back to shape a little bit.

Wheel balancing is also not normally an issue withe rear wheels, it usually takes a really bad imbalance to cause a wobble at the rear like the OP has mentioned.

For example i know a bloke that never used to get his rear tyres balanced ever, no reported issues that he told me of.

The more i think about the more i am to visit Costco on payday this month, spend the £67 odd for each of four nice shiny Michelin Primacys and put the Sava tyres on eBay for whatever i can get for them.

Poxy Sava tyres, grip Ok in the wet or dry, but my mpg has dropped 3/4mpg since they were fitted and the car feels like there is more resistance to forward movement, if that makes sense.

I knew i would regret buying cheapies!

At least i can see the funny side, cost myself money by being tight!

What make of tyres are they?
How many weights have they put on, (inside and outside) to balance them?

Enduro. Not the most expensive brqnd but I've been using these for years with no problems.

I;ll check how many weights are on.
  • Is the Sedona RWD, if so could be wear in the propshaft UJ's or centre bearing, oh and check the diff oil level.
If it's FWD ignore this post..;)

    FWD I think.

    as vaio says
maybe they buckled a rim as tyre fitted

That'd take some doing and certainly beyond any grip pressure a tyre machine can apply.

Have you checked the wheel nuts are tight, or are you just assuming they tightened them up ?
Only needs a lazy tyre fitter and a faulty torque setting on the wrench.
If the MOT is not far away, bringing it forward for peace of mind may help find any worn bushed or bearings or even cracked springs.
Also have the wheel bearings and securing nuts checked.
If everything checks out have the wheels balanced by a in car balancing machine, they do exist

    It's the tyres.
That's the only thing you have changed.
They're from the same batch, they have the same fault.
Take them back and get a different date code, or better still a different make of tyre put on.

    depends on the machine
    the operator
    the type of tyre removed
whether bead jammed on rim and so undue pressure used
ive certainly damaged rims fitting tyres

Sounds like the tyres to me, its amazing how often I am driving behind someone with warped rear tyres and I can see the whole car moving from side to side.

The balancing shouldnt make your rear seats wobble but warped tyres would.

As someone else said swap them from front to rear
