Those little birds look like the ones that came free with a recent issue of Cross Stitcher. Still in my stash, yet to be stitched...

Love the cushions especially the flag one!

I have a little bit of a daft question please jcr, you know the scenting you have mentioned, what exactly do you put in? I did think of some sort of essential oil on the stuffing but with it being wet not sure if it would keep or end up smelling of damp??

    Thanks :) x

sweet peas i'll pm you the link of what i bought for it. i personally don't use oils as these can stain not only the item , but may stain through the heart and onto other things. not always the case i think it depends which scent you use.

it is a dry filling i use , there for no dampness.

i'm on the hunt for a christmas scent, mulled wine or cinnamon or similar for my xmas makes.

jcr any news on baby yet noticed your due date.

After some advice please. I have just been lucky enough to gain a lot of jewellery making items from a friend and would love to make some of the key charms for a couple of friends for Christmas. Do you know of any simple to follow instructions for them on the net anywhere as never done jewellery making before

Having seen all your beautiful works of art I bought a bag of felt pieces in Tesco last week and can't wait to get started on some hearts. I've also found pics of xmas trees and snowmen which I'd love to make for people.

Thank you so much for this lovely thread.

Love all the teachers gifts- guess they won't have had anything as personalised as those before and bet they were a talking point in the staffroom! In fact think all your beadwork is great.

Somewhere on this thread someone asked about teaching crotchet to a left handed body. I am told (being right handed!) that you need a clear instruction book and then put this by a mirror so all the wool/hook/hand positons are reversed and it should be plain sailing. Another way which might work is for the left handed learner to sit opposite the teacher, then they can mirror movements- but don't know how good this would be because the way you hold wool & hook are key, however worth a try. I have only taught right handed folk.

When I learned to crotchet (many, many moons ago!!) I found it really hard to turn at the end of the row until someone showed me...never looked back.

At a carboot this w/e saw some neat little mobile phone cases (might have been knitted but either would work) basically a rectangle folded in half with applique felt flowers and some beads.
