    Eric's mum - tacky glue

Occasionally glue dots if it was a small and fiddly project.

jcr16 how are you? Haven't seen any recent post from you so i am guessing your bundle has arrived? Hope all is well and missing your craft makes! I have just completed 2 blankets and will post pics soon. x
  • Hi everyone loving all the makes!! Need some advice if you could please, I'm currently in the process of making all my best friends wedding stationary, I have pretty much finished but I am having problems with them. Basically they are either red or black (alternated colours) with a feather from the corner and a layer of the contrasting colour over the top however the feathers are causing a slight bump which is making the layer or mat come unstuck at that side, the other side is stuck down fine so i cant take them off and use a different adhesive without spoiling them any ideas on what i can essentially 'slide' underneath to get them to stick down? I hope this makes sense! I could take some pics if that would help.

    hi, yes baby is here.

our gorgeous little boy arrived on the 18th aug. everything went perfect.i did take a ball of wool and crochet hook in my hospital bag, so while i was waiting for the doc to sign me off on the 19th i did get a blanket going. baby is a very good sleeper so i have been doing little bits of the evenings. but not done anythign else apart from that. just enjoying being a mummy to 4 , but lots of craft plans in the pipe line.

Rowena, I'm not sure if I'm picturing your wedding cards correctly, but would fish nylon or dental floss go underneath the layers so you can lift them and add more glue? I've used them for similar reasons.

Alternatively you could try the smallest size of glue dots shoved under the layers with a cocktail stick, I would avoid normal glue on the stick or using double sided tape as I can forsee problems if it didn't go to plan.

    What a lovely idea.

There is a really easy technique where you can make a beautiful hand sewn quilt and each square from start (cutting the material) to finish (quilted) will take minutes - I'm not joking!

For each square you need -

4 inch square of fabric (patterned looks best)
matching plain fabric -6 inch circle
4 inch of wadding or felt
thread - colour either to blend in or to stand out

If anyone wants I can PM the instructions. It's a style of Japanese quilting.
