I am interested in AA breakdown cover and clicked via quidco. The next link asked me for my BACS details before it would link to the AA site. Is this correct and risk free/ secure?

Hi @number9,

Don't worry, any details you enter with Quidco are securely encripted, and you can find out some more about this in our Privacy Policy HERE.

Some retailers do require you to have your BACS details registered before you make a purchase with them as an anti-fraud measure. However, you can change these back to your preferred payment method as soon as your transaction has tracked in.

Hi @silvercar, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

This should never be the case as we do not allow retailers to charge more when going through Quidco, and we do take it very seriously if we find out that this is the case.

What the users who were having this issue would need to do is clear their cookies and browser history before making the quote through Quidco, as if the same quote has been run previously (and a cookie placed on your browser for this), it can cause the prices to go up if it is run again-even through a different referrer. This should hopefully resolve the issue.

If they are still getting differing prices, they will need to send a screen shot of the price going through Quidco, and the price going direct, to members@quidco.com, including RE:MSE, their name, the retailer name and user ID in the subject bar. We can then investigate this further for them.

Using a saved quote that had been run previously would prevent the purchase from earning cashback, as the sale would not be attributed to Quidco, but to the original site that the quote was run through.

I will add a post in the new thread directing them back to this post, but once again thank you for letting us know.

How would this policy apply if an insurer could demonstrate to you from their statistics that policyholders who take out policies via Quidco are a higher risk than ones who take out policies via different channels?
