Can anyone tell me, I’m buying a tv from curry, where it says online cash back rates on quidco's app, do you know if you can you order online, go to the store, pay and collect it? Or do you have to pay for it in full online and have it delivered? I am unable to get one item delivered, but I can reserve both in one store, but I don't know if reserving would still be classed as online order. It has one rate for buying specific item, but is that online and delivered only as it gives a different rate for reserved in another section. I need to buy the two items together on one receipt too and that's why I can't just order one online and collect the other.  Collecting would be best for me too and I don't want to mess it up as the cash back will really help me to pay for it. I need to order it at the latest tomorrow which doesn't help. Thanks for any help given

Hey, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! In this case you would still be eligible however it would come under the reserve and collect rate specifically, If you need any clarification let me know!

Question from someone genuinely fearful for the future of cashback as we know it, not just from Quidco but other providers as well:  Why is it that cashback is taking longer to confirm and be available to withdraw than ever before?  I remember the early days when cashback was cleared within days - now I have a transaction generating 29p which is forecast to take nearly 7 months to pay out.  Why? and what can be done about this to re-establish the attractiveness and sense of value of the whole concept?

Cashback can take a while to confirm as we're reliant on the retailer doing a few different checks before they pass the cashback on, including factors such as returns period etc, and it is processed by third parties in between ourselves and the retailer. We'll try to pass on cashback as soon as we can but we like to give an average expectation of when we expect it to be fully completed by the retailer  -Joseph(Joseph@quidco.com)

You haven't really answered my question so let me be more specific - were these "third parties" not involved back in the days when cashback was far, far quicker?  My 29p cashback from M&S was in relation to an order with a 35 day returns period. What are your "third parties" doing for the other 6 months - please offer something more meaningful than "a few different checks"?  There are 2 points behind this - firstly I believe these "third parties" are going to put Quidco out of business unless they can become much more efficient; people just aren't prepared to wait that long these days.  Secondly, this "third parties" phrase requires further explanation - without knowing who they are and what they do how is the consumer to know wether in data protection and privacy terms their interest is legitimate? Yes, these are terms extracted from your Privacy Policy.

So when we say "Third party" we mean our affiliate networks. These work between ourselves and the retailer as an intermediate. They make sure all the decisions made get passed on and that funds come through to the correct place. We always have a set holding time before we send transactions and claims to the retailer. this is usually the "returns period" but these are set by the networks and vary. during this time we conduct our own checks and make sure everything looks correct and legitimate. Then the network accepts the claims, does there bit and sends the information over to the retailer. and it comes back to us via that process but in reverse!

It is frustrating that it can take a long time, and we are always working on ways we can improve it. We also try to be as transparent as possible when it comes to time frames

No, still no clearer. If the use of these ill-defined, undisclosed and unnamed third parties and affiliates is an example of ways Quidco has found to improve then it should think again because their involvement is deeply worrying.  Specifically, they appear to be a device to distance Quidco from members and are constantly used by Quidco as the primary excuse for delays and mistakes for which Quidco should accept responsibility and accountability.  Over the years cashback has become far too slow. Claims handling is even worse. Lack of transparency regarding systems and processes (to the extent that I do not trust Quidco to protect my personal data) warrants independent investigation. In the meantime, dissatisfied with the Quidco Company Representative's evasive and incomplete responses, I have deactivated my Quidco account, even though I had cashback and a claim pending.  It's just not worth it any more.

  • Hi I have a small query about QuidCo:
There is currently a 2% cashback for Etsy. Does this 2% come out of the pockets of the independent artists at Etsy or from the middle man (presumably there is one) at either Etsy or QuidCo please?

Reason I ask is cos I'd like to support indie stores as much as I financially can,  and would probably forgo the cashback if it meant the artist I buy from will be paying that 2% :)

    Many thanks in advance!

Hey - I'm going to sign up with Virgin Broadband for a new contract, but I'm going with a deal I found on uSwitch. Can I still get the cash back via Quidco? Thanks!

    Hey,
The cashback is paid by Etsy with this. We recieve the refferal fee, and then pass this along to you as the cashback 😊.
    I hope this helps!
