How much do pay a month on electric?

3 bed semi, 2 adults, no kids. Oil heating for C/H and H/W, electric shower (used about 9 times a week), electric oven and hob, fiidge freezer, chest freezer, 40" LCD TV, 19" LED TV, desktop PC, toaster, kettle, hairdryer (used 7 times a week). Would use immersion for 15 mins for H/W for dishes and OH to wash the war paint off.
We pay £97 a quarter (so about £33 a month) give or take a few pounds on NIE's tariff quarterly by DD so get the 4% discount (included in figure I gave)
Makes me think that I have something running somewhere I should not have for the OP who said £15 a week! Although the gas heating/hot water / hob will account for a lot of that I think.
We are actually looking to get a new kitchen, will def get gas in as I love the controllability and instantness of it compared to the halogen thing we have at the moment.
other than the child that matches mine, although no hair drier needed for me. the only other thing is a tropical fish tank but surely that doesnt make a difference of over £50pm. Something wrong somewhere.0 -

£15 a month if you're referring to me...
You would be hard pushed to get it down to £15 a month - we don't have an electric hob or immersion for hot water, they're both gas. I would never be without a gas hob or instant hot water, I love them.niceday999 wrote: »Also we work shifts so house occupied most of the time by someone..
i'm going to try awitching off fridge and freezer in garage and see if it makes a difference.

Really looking forward to my next bill for comparison purposes as DS has just moved out. His room had a 42" plasma TV and x box always left on, bedroom light with 3 x 50 watt bulbs that was only switched off when I did it as he kept his curtains pulled all the time to avoid glare on the plasma screen, laptop always left on, multiple chargers always plugged in and worst of all - iron regularly left on all day while I was at work.
Now it's just me I will find out exactly what his electricity useage was. :T0 -

I was in the Estate Agents last week looking at a new flat but the thing that put me off was it was all electric.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I pay £34 a month for 2 adults 3 kids in a three bedroomed townhouse. Washing machine is permanently on boil wash, dying laptop constantly plugged in, tumble dryer, games consoles, everything left on stand-by overnight etc. So yes £85 is very high.0
