As long as you are disciplined then they can be very good.

    Hello Antj87

Just to add to what the other posters have already said. Think carefully as to whether you really need a credit card. they are a great temptation when you have them to spend what you cant afford to pay back.

I got into a mess with credit cards when I was young and it took me untill April 2006 to get debt free, and Im 32 now so 14 years of struggle for a couple of years of recklessness.

If you are SURE you can pay the balance off in full each month then OK but if you are not then please please think carefully.

Have you made loads of applications? If so you will have damaged your record and should not apply again for six months or so.

Otherwise try Vanquis, Barclaycard Initial, Aqua - the high interest sub prime cards may be an option

Wait stop trying and start with getting credit the easier ways, either a store card / sterio (on finance) / mobile phone (on contract) or a car (DEFINATELY NOT A GOOD MOVE but an option) .

To get credit you need to show responcibility the reaon they wont give you a card is because they cant see you are responcible. after they can see 3 months worth of mobile phone bills paid in full they will be more likely to give you a card.

oddly its easier to get a mortgage than a credit card when it comes to not having credit history.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
