Its too easy to get suckered into thinking you are saving money , but the truth could be they you end up drinking the wine because you have it , and you end up taking a 'cheaper' flight ticket because its there

I know someone who kept saying what a great deal he had because he saved £700 odd when he bought a new lap top from someone . He couldnt understand he hadnt saved anything , he had infact spent £700

We need 23 return flights a year - Xmas, Easter, Summer for 5, Whit week, October for 4

Yes, I agree. If you are a) a drinker and b) travel a lot then this deal is worthwhile. I tick both boxes but I have quite a lot of booze in at the mo and white wine is not my first choice either, so I am being cautious on this offer.

Such as? Ink cartridges, mobile phones are good. No Tesco alu tin recycling around here unfortunately.

    Got any decent ideas? TIA

150 miles for getting an Air Miles cash passport (which costs £5 fee to get). That's 3p odd per mile - bargain

750 miles for switching to Lloyds TSB by being referred. I am in the process of doing this - then if you refer friends you both get 750 miles. Refer someone in the same household and you'll be able to "merge" your AirMiles accounts and effectively get 1500 miles from one referral. This offer is still being advertised but the lady in the bank was not certain it was still on so I am hoping it comes through in the next few weeks

Air Miles AMEX credit card - 1 mile per £10 spend. Wait for a nice introductory offer though (sometimes 1500 miles or better) - nothing running as yet that I can see

Ink cartridges, yes - buy in bulk and send off for 20 miles per cartridge, max 30 per year I think. That's 600 miles for as cheap as you can get the cartridges for

No worries. Get the 250 miles version - you pay a £5 load fee and get 55-ish miles plus the 100 "first time" bonus. I would load it from a bank card as I think someone said it was seen as a cash advance if done via credit. I used my Nationwide a/c as they are 0% on all currency shenanigans.

Then when the card comes, simply go to your nearest ATM and withdraw the £250. Wham bam thank you ma'am - 155 air miles for a fiver!

The deal is good if you use it right, i'm just sick of the constant updates from a1cat telling us how many points they have, i keep looking at the thread to see if new items have been added, and have to trawl through "Kerching 2000points, im great, look at me, whoopdewhooo, my threads rock, blah blah blah"

If you go on Tesco website you can find out if new items have been added, then you wouldn't have to come on the thread at all ;)
