A lot of controversial stuff is disappearing from the web, I think the authorities are reigning in and shutting down alternative opinions.

Notably the removing or changing of news stories which turn out to have political "implications", like those covering killings/crime later found to be linked to Sharia law.

Or in the last 5-10 years anything that suggested speeding wasn't the only cause of accidents. Or anything which debunked the whole global warming theory.

It's very curious, I started saving links to news items of interest (I check the news at lunch times and save links for viewing at home) and even printing some to PDF files and now some of those articles have disappeared without trace. Like they never existed....

    Weird stuff.....

    AAAAAARRRRR! :D

I can see I need to be careful of my terminology here - I too am from Penzance. I was simply making the point that, on balance, the reason that the person I encountered on that crossing did not look where she was going was highly unlikely to be because she was from a drive-on-the-right country.

No chap, you actually said she failed to look in the direction of traffic, the fact that she had her head down could still mean that she had seen no traffic from the other direction.

If you recall so much detail and were watching her so closely how come you nearly ran here over?

If this is a Cornwall thing I have missed the point;), borrow your wife anyone?, No?, Got a sheep going spare??

I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

She was walking parallel with the road, rather than towards the crossing and was looking down, so I assumed she wasn't going to cross.

Imagine my surprise when she suddenly turned sharp right across the pavement and onto the crossing, all with her head still down.

THIS is what I said. NOT 'she failed to look in the direction of traffic'.

For the avoidance of doubt, this is NOT a Cornwall thing so don't try and turn it into one or make out that I am doing so. The location is irrelevant and I only mentioned it at all to make the point that the person probably wasn't from outside the UK.

Calm down dear , calm down. OK,

    So,
    To quote you what was actually said was;

"they have ALWAYS looked in the direction of traffic first. Every time, that is, apart from yesterday.""

Is that radically different from my interpretation.

FACT, the ped did not look you in the eye, peds mistake:eek::eek::eek::eek:, hang him/her.

    Full stop.

The fact that you didn't get the warning sign from that is your fault.

It's simple observation, go and learn, please, :wall:

Oh and I do love Cornwall, ;)

    Am calm.

But FACT - the ped didn't look anywhere apart from the floor in front of her. Not at me, not at the road, not at the front of my car, nowhere. It was as if she hadn't noticed she was walking from the pavement onto the crossing.

If she'd looked up in any direction at all we wouldn't be talking on this post.

It is indeed OT, but give us some examples of things that were there before and aren't any more. May as well have a look for interest. I take interest in other things apart from road rage!
