servicing stop - beware!!!

I can't believe how rubbish this service is.
I booked the wife's Qashqai in for a 24K service last Thursday. They rang to confirm the booking, and confirmed they would pick up between 8.00 -10.00 am on Monday. I took 1 day's holiday to attend to this. Their website/phonesite is absolutely full of a "love-in" of how brilliant their service is.
At 10.21 nobody had turned up. I rang them, and their team assured me the garage was on the way (less than 10 miles away).
At 11.20 I rang again. Apparently it way my fault. The garage had telephoned 3 times (they hadn't) to "discuss my options". They couldn't pick the car up today due to "lack of drivers". Apparently Mickey Mouse was missing a driver.
I stated my annoyance with the operative (whilst not swearing), who advised me that "These things happen", not withstanding the fact they had broken their contract with me.
Bottom line is the service is cancelled, and it will be carried out by the local Nissan Garage. Granted it will cost a few quid more - but at least they will turn up on time and do what they are supposed to do.
They have no regard whatsoever for customer service. I've today launched a small claims court warrant for £500, for loss of earnings and inconvenience. I’ve also lodged a complaint with Trading Standards. I have generated an "Experian" search on them, and I see I'm certainly not the first to find out how shabby their service is, via the courts.

Good luck but unless you earn £500 a day won't see that in court, you'll only get what you financially lost IF you win. How did you pay for the service via a credit/debit card, are you being refunded. Again if you called to make the appointment you only have a verbal contract and then it turns into he said she said..........
Best advice is to let it go and move on, you haven't lost anything other than a days holiday annoying as it is, these things do happen and they could have been genuine regardless of what you found on experian.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
Sorry to rain on your parade but I think you will be extremely lucky to sucessfully claim £500 for 'loss of earnings and inconvenience' so I think you are wasting your time and money there. The court will expect you to have first made a wriiten complaint and not received any satisfactory response and seeing as the was only last Thursday I am guessing that you havn't done this. Court's see themselves as a last resort but of course, you are entitled to make a claim and ultimately it will be for the judge to decide what (if any) level of compensation you are entiltled to.
By the way, what's a 'Qashqai'?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Why didn't you drive the car there yourself? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Whilst this kind of thing is really annoying, I suggest you keep things in perspective. And £500 for what exactly? If you took a day off on hols its paid isn't it? (unless you're self employed of course). Even then, I can't see anyone would consider that as a reasonable response to what is, after all, only a broken appointment. You have been reading.....another magnificent post by garethgas :beer:0

The OP makes it quite clear he wasn't abusive - so your assumption that he was "abusive & threatening" is somewhat wide of the mark.
Coming onto a forum such as this with a cryptic username & making comments like you have perhaps isn't your best move
With respect, you are making the assumption that the OP's version of events is how it actually happened. For all we know he may have been abusive. Always good to hear 2 sides to a story.
Also, i'm not sure that the OP has handled this 'complaint' correctly for it to have a chance in court. Knowing how the system works, you have to show that there has been some attempt to resolve matters before taking matters to court and it dosn't look like that has happened here.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. Couldn't agree more with regard to the actual complaint, having had a lot to with small claims court cases in my job the onus is very much on proving your loss, so at best the OP can expect to be awarded his "actual" loss of earnings caused directly by their failure to fulfill their side of the contract. At worst the OP will get nothing & will have to foot the cost of the action.
My point about the "abusive" suggestion is that the OP states he didn't swear, now I know that doesn't mean he wasn't abusive but there is no way that spannerstop1 would know that he was or even who he was based on the OP's post.
Does anyone even know is spannerstop1 is who he is suggesting he is?0 -

Hmmm.....that is also making the assumption that he poster is who they say they are. Hence the need for the forum team to verify their existence. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Normally when somebody has been abuaive but stopped short of swearing they will say things like the OP to give their post credibility, he may have called the "operative" an incompetent idiot that couldn't run a bath properly, but "didn't swear"
I reckon the OP told them he was going to ruin there business on the internet and that is why we have the company involved turning up to post within a short while.
Judging by the snooty way the OP posted when putting his best foot forward so to speak, how do you think they would speak to a mere "operative"
The fact the OP drives the urban middle class car of the moment and he is trying to save money on servicing tells a story aswell.0 -

This whole site is set up to help consumers, including saving money, so what does that say about Martin and all the users of this site?"You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"
