On a low income, £30 is worth having and you can increase your salary in the future with more experience etc. Living on benefits is a dead end street that is likely to get worst.
I currently get £200 net.
One the dole I would get:
£80 ha.
£25 ctb
£105 joint jsa.
That equals £210.Leftie and proud :beer:0 -
If I signed on, I'd get my rent and council tax taid, plus £105. Council tax is £25 a week. That equals £210. That does not include free prosciptions, dental care etc.
You can claim HB and CTB while working if you are on a low income. Have you applied?
Have you put your household details into the Turn2us or direct.gov benefits calculators to see what you're able to claim?

Still better off on benefits?Gone ... or have I?0 -

If they pass him, I'll eat my hat. I know what they think of the mentally ill.

Tribunals are independent of the DWP, they have no bias against the mentally ill. If they do not pass him, the likelihood is that he is fit for some work.Gone ... or have I?0
