Op.You can stay signing on and just declare your income each week, until you get more hours. When I started work they said you can sign on, with working up to 24 hours a week. You wont get WTC until you get 16 hours.

Let's just check that I fully understand your situation.

You've been offered a delivery job that pays £6 an hour for 14.5 hours each week i.e. £87 per week
The job is not self employed as you're employed by an organisation as an employee however you're expected to use your own vehicle and pay for your own fuel plus pay for business insurance for your car. Your car might possibly reduce in value due to the increase in mileage plus you'll be liable for any damage / repairs that might occur through using your car for work You can't claim the tax back on your business mileage as you're an employee neither would you be entitled to working tax credits due to the number of hours that you will be working each week.

If all that I've posted above is correct I wouldn't take up the position of employment as I wouldn't feel comfortable working for an employer offering those terms.

No....You can turn down any job where you will be worse off without penalty. Be prepared to prove it.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
