Why do sellers block their items they sold

Sellers can't have private feedback. If you read it properly, you will find it's you who is wrong.0

From the link
Important: If you have a private Feedback Profile, you will not be able to sell items on eBay.0 -
I've sold things as a private listing, mainly when I've sold a bundle of clothes so that the buyer can sell on if they're using the same account. Also around Xmas time when I've sold unwanted presents, in case they're bought as gifts.0

Perhaps its because it keeps what the buyer has bought confidential. Not everyone sells or buys things that they want to boast about.
My sister for one has it private as she sells masks. Use your imagination here.
I also have mine private as sometimes I sell my presents that I've received on..I don't want my family seeing them again do I! It's no big deal at all.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
I think it's my fault, I confused things...
there is a different between private listings and private fb.
For private listings you can still see the fb, but the item is kept private. It's not unusual for some sellers to have private fb, for example if they sell lingerie.
I was really amused when a buyer of mine a while back bought several items from an 'adult themed' shop, which had forgot to list them as private... I didn't find out what size bra she wore, but what size something else she liked....0 -
I think in some countries (possibly germany is one?) - everyones ebay items are private in feedback - as its against their data protection laws to let the world see what people are buying.
I think its a good idea - what you are buying its none of anyone elses business.
Would you be happy for Boots, Argos and Tesco to put your shopping history on their websites for all to see? Well thats what feedback does on Ebay.
So i cannot see why you have a problem with private listings (not to be confused with private feedback).0 -
I sell volumes on EBay, some items are only sold by me. To prevent my competitors (to be less helpful to them) my listings do not show the item in the feedback. If a competitor could view my items in feedback they would see my best lines. The only way they can do this with my feedback settings currently is to trawl through my shop and look at each individual listing making it nigh on impossible.
So OP if the items are not of a dodgy or sexual nature, then just ensure the comments are good and bid away. I have over 100,000 and only 8 grey and 2 red, so whilst you can't see what each person bought, you can see they loved them!!0 -

I do believe it's none of anyone elses business what you have bought but if the seller has got a negative or neutral it would be a good idea to see what the item is as i don't fancy buying the item and having the same problem.
Then buy of someone else or in your case as people have already said close your ebay account.0
