Lloyds for 25 years, never a mistake, online never flopped for me, and I do do a fair bit of shifting around between Isa's, vantage, Charity payments etc, also credit cards reliable. But I've never asked for anything extraordinary. Also used their car insurance, but then it went up rather much a couple of years ago and I found better value.

Have to agree that having been with Lloyds since 1975 I can't complain....there has never been any c**k-up's (like I read other people have with their banks). I have found that the "Mayfair" private banking staff are very good, particularly my Investment Manager...but then again never lose sight that I (you/we) are paying for these types of services and accounts.

    Blimey!
Mayfair private banking at Lloyds is for those with over £2m assets or on more than £500K annual income.

Even the wealthy like to save money :T
  • been with LTSB for just over 7 years, no problems so far, touch wood, save the change is pretty good, I know it's only pennies, but I suppose it all adds up in the end.

Lol I started this thread and have now I left Lloyds and given up my premier account. It is most definitely not worth £25 per month.

ID Aware is with Call Credit; nobody uses them, can't see any searches.

Airport lounges access was only if you buy one of their crappy holidays and is not a separate product.

Emergency home assistance is bloody useless, at least in my case, as I live in a block of flats; I had a leaking radiator – nothing could be done about it without a service company draining the whole system.
Travel insurance was good, i.e., 62 days, but with excess and excess waiver for a little extra.

Mobile phone insurance is only for one handset, house content cover will cover that, at least mine does under the personal belongings section.

Travel services will be discontinued in August.

    So what I’ve got instead:

Amex platinum charge card, which covers all travel needs for me and my partner, including real access to airport travel lounges, 180 days worldwide insurance and much more.

Amex essentials insurance covers all my gadgets (laptops, cameras, phones, you name it), documents, cards worldwide.

First Direct has exceeded my expectations, finally no need to remember ID numbers, as one could select user name and password which you could remember. Don’t need to have your account or card number to talk to them. No endless switching from one person to another. Can sort everything by myself on the internet. No subscription fee. Still quite expensive to use abroad but with the phone app I can send money to a Metro bank account and withdraw without any fees, plus as I have roaming data using the app abroad is free, no dodgy internet cafes are required!

I wish you good luck in finding places around the UK generally that will accept AMEX - many don't due to the high charges imposed on the retailer by amex.

I'm not planning to have only Amex card.
