Reported someone for fraud but nothings changed

I need some advice here. Someone I know is committing fraud whilst claiming benefit. I reported them via the Targeting Fraud website about 4 months ago and again about 2 weeks ago and nothing has been done. It's still going on. How long does it take before something is done?

where you been lately ?

dont know what to suggest, maybe they are chasing it up but its taking time as they are building a case up against this person, dont you get a reply or some kind of acknowledgement when you report someone ?0 -
I didn't get any kind of reply but I did do it anonymously. If they found out it was me I'd be in deep trouble.

One of my neighbours works for DWP and he says that they get so many tip-offs that they can't deal with them all. Despite what a lot of people think there's a lot of fraud going on. If it really annoys you keep trying. Maybe they take action after a certain number of reports?" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I understand that each fraud tip off is noted on the persons file and the fraud team work their way through them. Sometimes they monitor the person for weeks/months to build a case against them. I would suggest if there still appears to be no action after another 2 months to contact your local councillor.

In about 10-30 years when they have caught up with the backlog as well as prepared a case against him by giving him benefits for those years.0

Whay happens is, or what used to happen is, your info provided would be fed into a system, that would or should locate the person and whatever benefits they are iro. Then a "scoring" process is used. This is to filter out those accusations when a benefit might not be in payment, or whether the accusations have any bearing on the benefit. Depending on the score, whether or not its worth chasing or not,the person may be chased/caught. It does seem like a total waste of time though, the amount of people that commit benefit fraud and serve sentences or even have to pay benefit back for that matter is minimal. Think they try to go for big fish-the companies employing people claiming and providing false nino's and so on... Its very frustrating, but seems to be almost socially acceptable these days?RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

Please don't think I'm being rude, but why do you care? What benefit to you will it be if that person has their benefit stopped?0
