Hello everyone . Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Evening all
I was red last week, it was all looking good after Thursday but lunch and breakfast at work on Friday tipped me over. Still 2.5 weeks until payday:eek:
I am going for £40 this week hopefully that should be plenty as I have a fully stocked fridge/freezer after a trip to the farmers market and supermarket. Just need to keep my purse closed:mad:Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Hi all
Thanks for the thread pointy, I almost started it yesterday as was desperate for the link for my sig!!! But didn't want to step on your penguin toes!
Sounds like a few people have expensive weeks, luckily for me I don't have too bad a week, I did a shop on Sunday which was £19 something, I forget, and I put all the change in my sealed pots, so I have exactly £20 left.
Today I have to get apples and bananas so a small spend as I forgot them yesterday!
Then on Friday I have my bosses wedding reception to go to. They just got married in Hawaii so this is their celebration for all friends and family. My parents are very kindly giving me lifts down there and back so that I can have a couple of drinks which is what the rest of my budget is for.
I have a night out Saturday which I've got money for elsehwere and doesn't come under this challenge anyway, but the point is, that's my big night out so I don't want to be hungover from Friday, hence only a low budget. I've got a horrible feeling I'll go a little bit over though... if I do, it'll come from food budget which I seriously don't want! so we'll see!
So far then, exactly £20 spent of £40.
Have a lovely week all
LC x
Edit: £1.68 spent on 4x apples and 4x bananas so £21.68/£40
Edit again: Also spent 84p on bottle of water for tomorrow for car as the bottle i've been re-using for ages broke. I normally only get one new one a month so I don't begrudge this! - total £22.52/£40
Edit again: Started my Stop Smoking Pot so had to put £4.17 in there. Also put the odd 31p in sealed pots.
Remaining £13 - £27/£40

Afternoon everyone,
Today is a NSD for meTomorrow my little bundles of joy go back to school and pre-school and life returns to its boring normality that I love so much = no extra expenses lol.
Yesterday I had to call in sick at work as I suffer with really bad migrainesbut I am feeling a bit better today
Wednesday is payday  lol not that I will have anything left to spend but it is still a great feeling to check your bank account and see that huge balance even if it all disappears by 00:05 :rotfl:, like magic!!
I have an interview thursday, so wish me luck everyone
Have a great day.

P.S.: For the Twilight lovers, the new Breaking Dawn trailer is out, a whole 2 minutes lol, and it looks awesome!0 -
