Tesco conveniane stores

I had never noticed it before that the little tesco stores price their stock at a a higher price than the big supermarket stores, i went into buy a box of special k cereal last night on my home at the little tesco on my estate and paid £3.11 for a box that i would pay £2.99 for in a bigger main store!

I think it disgusting that they sting you on price for using their stores becuase they happen to be more conveniant than going to a larger store!

Rahhhh!

Thats standard practice for all convenience stores. The Co op do it as do Sainsbury's local. Just think though that you will have saved money on Petrol which may negate the extra costs

They are more expensive to run than the bigger Tesco stores as they are usually in prime retail locations and do not benefit so much from the economies of scale that their larger brethren do.

Their popularity tells us that people are prepared to pay a little extra for the added convenience.

The clue is in the name - you're paying extra for the convenince.

Not only that but Tesco's prices are not the same from big store to big store. Example is that the one two towns over sells a four pack of their isotonic drinks for £0.99 and ours sales it for £1.25. They are both the same size store approximately.

All the new Asda smaller stores (purchased from Netto) will have the same pricing as the larger superstores so I can't imagine Tesco continuing with two different pricing structures for long.

There don't seem to be any of them in the south but I hear they're like Lidl/Aldi which are at least twice the size of Supermarket convenience stores so can't be compared.

Like has already been said the main difference in price will be overheads. So many people know stuff like this I'm a little surprised anyone existed that couldn't figure it out. I have looked at the op's other thread they started today and do wonder if they're wind ups as I really can't believe someone really seems to know as little about the world. See the op's other thread for more details!

Not everyone intuitively understand the difference between fixed and variable costs and the interplay between them.
