Tesco had me arrested !!!

I cant be the only person that thinks the OP is some kind of troll with an axe to grind against Tesco, the story just does not ring true with me.0

CAB straight away, get them help u pen a letter to Tesco as a complaint and add all the facts, keep as a record for future use.
I was also arrested in Tesco for apparently shoplifting although they told me numerous times they were not accusing me of anything. On this occasion they never asked the c/o if i had bought items or looked at cctv; i was then abused over a 6 month period by staff, in and out of the store. A cab letter to h/o soon put them to rights, i recieved apology and the abuse stopped.....
p.s - eventually the police were called and nothing stolen was found on my person, although they were quite puzzled why i bought over 30 of the same magazines.....SIMPLES!0 -

How rude! You obviously have no idea how stressful it is trying to do your shopping with your child screaming from boredom causing other shoppers to give you a "look". If you have your own "sprog" I bet you're one of those god awful parents that shouts at their children and causes a right old scene!
How rude!
People that have children that behave are, "God awful parents who shout at their children."
Mine behaved, and the only problems we had was them disappearing into a different aisle when they became toddlers.
Personally, screaming kids in supermarkets nearly drive me insane, the shreeks go right through me. But of course they are loving caring parents who feed their kids chocolate and biscuits trying to bribe them to be quiet.
Behaviour is taught, it doesn't just happen when they are old enough.0 -

had my doubts , there used to be a regular poster who would claim to have been abused by Tesco security staff over shoplifting etc, cannot find the threads at the moment
apologies to the original poster if I am wrong

Bottom line was that the alarm went off because the cashier hadn't removed a tag and payment for the item was as clear as it ought to be on my receipt
Much depends on the interpretation of company policy and then again on the personalities who deal with the interpretation (coupled with the response/attitude of the person being "accused").
I spoke to a friend of mine about this post and his response was: "yep, these stores take out civil prosecutions all the time in shoplifting cases".
Maybe it is a "troll"; maybe it is someone with a grudge against Tesco per se, I have no idea. However, these things do happen (unfortunately) and not just to "trolls"0 -

Couldn't agree more - I used to occupy my kids by getting them to "help" with the shopping. When they were little I used to get them to look for things, or I would tie a toy to the trolly, I never bribed them to keep quiet. Of course, that worked well until they found out otherwise when my OH took them shopping and bought them chocolate to keep quiet!!! Took me ages to get them back to where they were!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I know this is sort of off topic to the thread but just had to say that I completely agree with this.
My children behaved whilst shopping as they had been taught to behave. What are you teaching a child when you feed them to keep them quiet? In my mind you are saying "If you scream and play up you'll get Sweeties/Cakes/Biscuits". That will jst encourage bad behaviour!
On another note. The reason the clothes were not placed on the conveyor belt was because her hands were dirty from the food. Yet the rest of the groceries were put on the belt (presumably by the dirty sticky hands?). That cashier then hand to handle the sticky groceries and probably transfer the dirt and chocolate debris to the next shoppers clothing / groceries??...Is that fair? ....Sorry eating in supermarkets is not on (IMHO)0 -

Worse still, those with standards many would find less than acceptable are incapable of seeing the error of their ways, consequently standards will continue to fall mainly because these are the people that tend to be responsible for the increasing population.
On the positive side, of course, parents who bring up their children to behave properly, with good manners will see them prosper and enjoy better careers, & higher living standards.
Awaits chav backlash which will be completely ignored.

It does seem that the op has a bad ti e shopping at Tesco. Every time they got there they end up being assaulted by security or wrongly accused of various crimes. Seriously though, some people just need a bit of attention and this is the only way they can get it so indulge the OP. Maybe they could start a mini protest outside the store along with their kid and assorted chocolates to stuff in its face to keep it occupied.0
