yeah well as above I hope for your sake it really is a scam, posting this kinda stuff about a genuine site would really be setting yourself up for being sued. Id double check very carefully and perhaps provide us with a bit more evidence.
Personally Id steer clear of anything like that in the first place but there ya go...Debt: a bloomin big mortgage
all posts are made for entertainment value only, nothing I say should be taken as making any sense and should really be ignored0 -
Well, I say thanks for the warning!0

That's not a very helpful or constructive post.
Tell you what, when I see all the posts either here or on any of the other Freebie boards celebrating the arrival of a free stressball/bobblehead/keyring, beermug, etc, etc, then we'll worry shall we?
Fact is, there hasn't been one so far has there? Perhaps the onus is actually on the people who run these sites with no "real" contact details to actually provide those details and the freebies they promise, rather than on us?
Deafening silence is enough "evidence" for me, thanks very much.0 -
Why do they charge if its supposed to be a free keyring or whatever?0

Fair enough - we'll soon see if they (quite literally) deliver soon enough. Please let us know.
When I included keyrings along with the other objects in my post, it was more of a generic comment - spurred partly because the former poster ryan1183 also contributed to another old thread on "free keyrings" - a different website:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=276238
No-one ever posted on that one to say that they arrived either.(my goodness I cant believe how much fuss ive caused!!!)
If you've brought this all to everyone's attention and saved people a lot of hassle in the future you'll have done many MSE'ers a great favour in fact.0 -

Yes - quite. Before we start defending the owner of that site even if his goods turn up, let's remember that the site title is still at odds with what happens. From the FAQ sheet:Are the Keyrings REALLY free?
Yes, we do not charge for your Keyring. Every Keyring you pay for entitles you to a free one.
Ok. So how much is the shipping and handling fee?
We charge £1.50 postage to the United Kingdom and £2.80 to the rest of the world for up to 5 keyrings. Then we add £0.25p for every keyring.
I tried putting a few in the shopping basket and got this by way of example:DESCRIPTION QUANTITY UNIT PRICE TOTAL
a-10 thunderbolt keyring(remove) - 1 +
£0.01 £0.01
animal house keyring(remove) - 1 +
£0.01 £0.01
wrath-of-khan keyring(remove) - 1 +
£0.01 £0.01
GOODS £0.03
1 discount -£ 0.00
United Kingdom SHIPPING £ 2.50
TOTAL £ 2.53
So you can see where the margin is coming from on these "free" things?
Final point - there's an awful lot of those designs that are copywrighted - the film ones being an obvious example. Is that all legit? I hope so for the sake of our friend Gerry - he certainly wouldn't want the Lucasfilms lawyers climbing all over him like they have a habit of doing with anyone publicly selling Star Wars material without permission/royalties paid.0 -
I'm still waiting for my freebies. :eek:0

I sometimes wonder if this forum should have its title changed to read Money Saving Expert & Load of Old Tat Collectors.
Just because it's free doesn't mean it's worth having.
Amazing the number of people out there who hazard their email addresses and Gawd knows wot else in pursuit of a 'free' piece of old tat (which then turns out not to be free because the price is loaded onto the P&P.)0 -
Well I, like many i`m sure, never use my proper email address for any offers in here, I just use my hotmail addy which is set up strictly for junk mail only_________________________________:starmod: Please do not feed the trolls! :starmod::beer:0
