To be honest, they have been good to myself. Only one very small issue (last claim) when they at first stated all parts of the bill weren't sent and they only received the 1st page.
Quickly sorted once I pointed out that not only both required parts were sent, but they were in fact stapled together. lol
    Hiya Lynsey,
Thats the problem though ....it's ok for you because you know exactly what to do to force the issue but when they try it on with the less experianced (as shown in many posts) they get away with it.

How many times have we read about them trying the same thing or "it was sent in the wrong format" or "you sent the wrong bill" or "we've never received it" etc etc etc

When they get proved wrong it suddenly becomes a terrible mistake ...yeah right ;)

Cashback is fine for some not others, and then its a question of why.

For me I did one with onestopphoneshop a few years back and it was fine, one with some outfit called mobile outlet (I think) who went bust during the contract. This one with mobiles.co.uk has been no issues so far, first claim made and paid wihtout any hassles.

Take an offer that if the worst happened is not going to be a problem to not receive the money back on and see it as the bonus it really is.

Hardly a "bonus" when the contract is dearer to start with than a non-cashback contract. As far as being a "bonus" is concerned I always treat it as a RIGHT; it's what I agree to and will hold the dealer to account on if they refuse to pay. Like any other contract, it is not an addition but a fundamental entitlement enforceable in law. The only exception is where a dealer goes bust; like any other contract, where that happens it's basically unenforceable.

Silk, it does pay to be organised and not to let issues escalate. The T&C's are set to protect both parties (or should be) and equally need to be enforced (if needed) by the customer. No leniency should be given (well, not too much anyway), as the merchant probably wouldn't give it.
Only one mishap, when a merchant went bust (lost about 50%). That was my fault also as the merchant had known issues and did appear to have problems. I took the risk as my then preferred dealer (Mobileshop) were also having problems. The gamble failed, but the only failure so far. I fear another dealer may be in difficulties now and won't take any more gambles with them, not until I feel they are safe. That's why I would recommend Mobiles.co.uk and the CPW companies at the moment (Phones4u and it's companies as well IF there are any decent offers), they are safer bets (IMHO).
In real terms, the T&C's are far easier now, and bless them, but they actually tell you now when to claim.

It can and will go wrong at times, but those times can be sorted. The positive now is that one messed up claim doesn't invalidate others, just keep on claiming (though some still don't realise that).

I'm pretty well organised (5 deals), but God knows how mj does it............he must have a secretary. lol :rotfl:

That's all, coffee time and then in the garden topping up the tan. ;)

Hi Percy1983, if you are not sure that you can 100% adhere to the terms and conditions of a cashback by redemption deal have a look at their 'automatic' cashback deals, you dont get as much cashback but any failures wont be down to you.
With one recent mobiles.co.uk automatic cashback I received the £320 cashback within 21 days and also got £50 cashback from quidco within the 1st month.

Just went back up to 9 (plus several more I watch over for other people) - getting like the good old days. Longer contracts do actually have some advantages; the cash-flow is better whilst earning the profit and it's easier to get lots of contracts because of the way many dealers limit customers to the number of contracts they can get over 12 months.

Actually, 8 contracts is ideal as far as managing the bundles is concerned; BUT the more contracts, the more claims each month and the more money coming in throughout the year. Since all mine are profitable, that also (in effect) means more money coming in on average each month than is going out. By adding to my fleet I also guarantee free calls, texts and internet use for at least another 18 months from that point even if deals dried up - as they did for a long spell a year or so back.

Besides; it's good to extract a continuing stream of free money from dealers who aren't always true to their word!

Thanks for all the posts, I have decided to go for it.

As it is I went for the lessor deal but the lower cost monthly so I am still below my £10 a month budget but at worse will end up on £15 a month.

I guess my main worry isn't so much me getting it wrong but the company going bust.
Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
Quit day job to run 3 businesses 08/02/2017
    Started third business 25/06/2016

    Started a second business 03/08/2013
Officially the owner of my own business since 13/01/2012

mobiles.co.uk is part of Carphone Warehouse, so it's unlikely they'll go bust.

I've had several cashback deals from them during the past few years and haven't had a problem. As others have said, you just need to play the game and follow the T&Cs to the letter.

Make sure you print out and keep details of the offer. Details of how and when to claim your cashback can be found at [can't post URL, it's mobiles.co.uk, slash, cashback.html].

And you can even send your claim electronically at https://securesite.mobiles.co.uk/submit-bill.html.

I recently sent in a claim for my first cashback of a new contract. Received an email from them a few days ago to say they've processed it and will send out a cheque.

I doubt they will go bust unless a winding up petition is served on them.
There was a lot of reorganisation of the CPW group last year and mobiles.co.uk's limited company was wound up last year and a new one formed ...think it was about December.
As was Geek Squad and Fresh Telecom

I thought at first it was going to be sold off but that seems unlikely now ....on the other hand I suppose it's now easier to drop it now it's been seperated :rotfl:

Either way I think it's unlikely they will go bust
It's not just about the money
